SIGNS OF THE TIME

Hey friends, how are you today? How was your week? Can you believe May is right around the corner? The past four months have just flown past! Can I even remember anything about these past few months? I just can’t believe we are almost halfway through the year already, too soon we will celebrate Christmas again! Is it just me, or has busy returned to our lives with a vengeance? Or perhaps I’ve just allowed more unnecessary distractions into my life? Huh! I’ll have to think about that.  How are you doing today?

I love spring.  I think what I enjoy most is the absolute transformation that takes place on God’s wonderful world.  How can anyone believe there is no God after experiencing spring? Every day, the leaves on the trees seem to be bigger and greener.  Little by little the birds make themselves visible.  The quiet is replaced by a variety of sounds.  Life has returned to our neck of the woods because of spring.  Spring brings movement.

This time of the year also reminds me that β€˜signs of the time’ are also here.  It reminds me that this β€˜world is not our home’, that we, just like spring, are β€˜just passing through’. When I see and hear of the chaos that is our world, I can choose to live as β€˜one without hope’ or I can choose to believe the truth of God’s Word.  I can choose to believe the end of this story and wait expectantly for the future story to unfold.  I can choose to believe GOD.  How are you today?

Spring has now settled in our neck of the woods and as the warmth of the sun makes itself felt, I welcome the time spent outdoors.  Here are the visible signs of spring:

  1. After 40 years in Florida I REVEL in the changing seasons. I love to watch for the familiar signs as one transforms into the next, especially the parade of flowers from crocus in February to goldenrod in the fall. Now, as April has given way to May, the weather will soon be warm enough to enjoy my morning quiet time on the deck. There’s nothing quite like enjoying God’s presence and Word in his living room! (That’s a term Michael Hyatt coined for the outdoors. He’s a former CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishing.)

  2. Enjoyed all the pics! Thanks for sharing. Spring to me also is a reminder of the resurrection. I love how our hostas that died back in the fall and as spring begins look like nothing is there. But then slowly you begin to see new growth – and then almost overnight – there they are again. Life after death! Spring proclaims it!

  4. Signs of the times for sure. Each day we get closer to the day Jesus returns πŸ™‚
Love the pictures but still waiting to see one of a bear. If you see a bear, please do not try to hug it because it is not like your teddy bears at home πŸ™‚

  5. The wonder, beauty, and renewal of spring make me appreciate the wonders of God’s world and the diversity of God’s creatures. For me, it is a time to enjoy and rejoice. πŸ’—πŸ¦‹πŸŒΊ

  6. Thank you for sharing your photos with us (gorgeous!) and for sharing your joy in the springtime. I love this time of refreshing and renewal.
We’re waiting for tulips and other early flowers to spring up (not even dandelions yet), but we wait with hope. ☺
