Hey friends, how are you today? How was your week? What plans do have for the weekend? Today, we celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary. Twenty-seven years ago, I said ‘I do’ to my best friend.  Surely, I say to my God be all the glory, and all the praise. He kept this marriage together throughout the years. He made each year sweeter than the year before.  He made it possible for me to say, “I love you, honey” and there to be no subterfuge found in the words. My God is great, do you know Him? He knew of my stubborn nature, my tendency toward rebellion, especially when things do not go my way.  He knew of my temper and my need to control my environment to point of obsession.  Throughout these 27 years, He has reminded me again and again, ‘MY grace is sufficient‘…my poor husband has had to put up with quite a bit throughout this marriage. I know now that God in His wisdom would never make His Word negotiable. You see, I am too fickle in my definition of love.  Today he loves me because he bought me flowers. But next year, he doesn’t love me because he ONLY bought me flowers.  See, I’m too fickle.  I’ll stick to the Word of God.   He has grown me not just in spiritual maturity, but also, He has blessed me with two of the best girls found on this side of heaven. My God is great, and I can guarantee you that He is faithful, and He will always be faithful. He can’t be anything else; He is God!

Marriage is work, but trusting the Lord as we walk this road makes it beautiful. How are you today? What are your plans for the weekend?

Success! You're on the list.

  1. I’m guessing your husband loves watching God grow in you, and your flourishing response to Him; as much as you love watching his yearning and growing in God. Thank you for sharing your blessings with us, and happy 27th!

  2. Happy Anniversary! You landed as handsome a man as you are beautiful a woman! AND you have amazing daughters! But you’re going to have to step up the pace if you’re ever going to catch up to Anita and me; we’re going to celebrate our 32nd this August! 😉 All glory to God for how He designed marriage.
