LIFE ABUNDANTLY

Hey friends, how are you today? How was your week? Well, we are almost done with the painting, thankfully.  Of course, hubby finished what we started, but then again, he excels at the detailed work.  We are in the month of November, friends! Can you believe it? My favorite time of the year is right around the corner.  But before December 25th rolls around, we get to enjoy a proper fall season.  The variety of yellow and brown leaves on the ground, the squirrels’ mad dashes as they store their food for the winter, the usually rare sightings of the blue jays become more common as they too prepare for the colder months ahead.  And the absolutely, fabulous weather the Lord has blessed us with has come with bright, beautiful sunshine and above average temperatures and we love it.  This time of the year does not last very long in my neck of the woods, usually winter weather (either the snow of the cold) makes its presence known around now.  I’ve really come to appreciate each day with its blue skies and warm temperature simply because I know what’s coming.

As Christians, we can appreciate each day, whether it’s comes with sunshine or thunderstorms or blizzards, because we too know the end of the story.  We’ve not been left ignorant, nor without our Helper.  Maybe today isn’t for kicking the leaves and just enjoying the beauty of life, perhaps tomorrow will be better.  The key is to surround ourselves with the people of God and in His Word.  Things will get better, because of the One, we know and serve.

Trust, obey, abide and live life abundantly. How are you?

  1. Wow!! I love the fall leaf colors you have/had to enjoy!! Stunning! Especially the fire reddish orange leaves on the tree in the picture with the water!!!

Love what you said here Brenda: Maybe today isn’t for kicking the leaves and just enjoying the beauty of life, perhaps tomorrow will be better. The key is to surround ourselves with the people of God and in His Word. Things will get better, because of the One, we know and serve.

What hope we have all because of our Lord!!!

  2. We’ve enjoyed a longer, milder autumn here too, when compared to recent years. I’m thankful for sunshine, crisp and cool air, afternoons on the deck, and spell-binding color in the trees. According to the extended forecast, we’ll get to enjoy another week of afternoon temps in the high 60s, low 70s, and four days of mostly sun. Then the bottom will fall out. BUT! For me, winter has its advantages too. I don’t mind hibernating for a few months–with candles, soup, hot coffee/tea, and a fire in the fireplace now and then!

  3. Surprisingly, our peak foliage in Kentucky is past already! Next Wednesday I will have a Wordless Wednesday of a short piece of a motorcycle road trip around Frankfort, Ky. A friend took me in his side car and it was so much fun! Temps are still wonderful here, as in NY, but all the leaves are brown and mostly down.

  4. That last picture…. Beautiful!!

    “From the lakes of Minnesota
    To the hills of Tennessee
    Across the plains of Texas
    From sea to shining sea
    From Detroit down to Houston,
    And New York to L.A
Well there’s pride in every American heart
And its time we stand and say-

That I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
    And I’d gladly stand up
Next to you and defend her still today
Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA!” (–Lee Greenwood)

  5. Oh, I do like fall! I prayed God would give us an extended fall because we never had a spring (straight from cold and wet to dry and sizzling). He has answered my prayer with a Yes! I have fully enjoyed our crisp, beautiful fall days.
I rejoice in God my Saviour and Provider!
