Hey friends, happy happy September! How are you today? How was your week? Wow! We are nine months into the new year already. Christmas is right around the corner. Where did the time go? Thankfully, we’ve been able to welcome September with the most glorious weather. Yesterday, we began the month of September with 70° and today’s high is a marvelous 82° with bright, beautiful sunshine under beautiful, bright, blue skies. Yes…Lord, yes… I see You. You makes all things beautiful.

I love flowers, almost every other week, rain or sunshine, winter, or summer, I buy fresh flowers for our home. Seeing them usually brings a smile to my face. There is a blog post floating on this site, called Bloom where you’re planted. Most times when I write a post, I write for me first. Usually, it is something I need to remember, or something the Lord laid on my heart, or my struggle. It is a post that calls for me to grow, to change, to draw closer to the Lord. And with that said, most times I need a reminder. Have I told you I am an impatient person? If an idea pops into my head, I dive right into it, usually without any of the research needed to see it through. The Lord gave me a child with just that same character trait and it drives me crazy! She, like me, hates to wait. Waiting for anything is anathema to us. We have the tendency to start projects but because we didn’t wait to put what we needed together, let me just say, there are several projects awaiting completion.

Recently the phrase ‘bloom where you’re planted’ came back to me because I believe the Lord has called me to a task, but the time is not yet. Because I am rearing to go, my current tasks have fallen to wayside because not only am I impatient, but I also have tunnel vision. Today is all I have; now is all I’ve been granted; today’s work needs to be completed. This habit of living in tomorrow cannot be allowed to continue. Today matters; I must “bloom where I’m planted’. My life, my circumstances, my today is more beautiful when I adhere to the Lord’s perfect timing. When I surrender my will and give Him full control, He makes all things beautiful.

Here are some ‘blooms’ to bring a smile to your face.

Today, let us ‘bloom where we’re planted’. Let us choose to grow and mature in our walk with the Lord. How are you today?

Yes, the Lord has work for us, where we are now, not where we will be tomorrow

Jesus has us where we can grow in him and live for him as he created us to be. 🙂
Are you impatiently waiting for snow? 🙂

I enjoyed the pics. I am a flower lover also. We live in a condo so our yard space is limited, but the space we have is filled with flowers. As September arrives, they are beginning to fade but I have so enjoyed them this summer. Your post reminded me of a women’s retreat I did several years ago with the theme “Bloom Where You Are Planted.” Sometimes we think if we were only in a different job, different home, different church we could really do a lot for God. But He calls us to trust Him in the place we are and “bloom” there until He directs us differently. May God grant you the patience and trust for wherever He may lead you next.

Thank you, my friend. Sometimes, I forget that aging does not grant me complacency. There I always work to be done in spite of age.
