HE MAKES ME LOOK GOOD

Hey friends, how are you today? How was your week? Our weather has been rather erratic, this week.  We went from being rather chilly for June to hot and humid summer temperatures.  Today we are down to comfortable; I rather like comfortable, myself.  It’s about 74°, although it’s cloudy today, the sun peeks through every break in the clouds.  It’s also rather windy, which keeps the humidity down and that, my friends, signifies a beautiful day in the making, especially because ‘hot flash’ continues to be a thing.  Of course, the beauty in this beautiful day depends on my approach to the matters this day eventually brings my way.

If I try to make a success of this day in my own strength, then this day is already doomed.   In my own strength, failure is inevitable because pride and selfishness are my two favorite companions, on days when my eyes are not fixed on the Lord.  I love myself, I love my ways, even when I do ‘good’ for others, my motives are not above reproach (they are “suspect”, as my girls would say). BUT GOD… I read a verse that included these words today (Eph. 2:4).  And I realized how absolutely blessed I am that these words apply to me.  All I can say is this… HE makes me look very good.  I owe it to those around me to make HIM look good too.  May my life reflect His glory today.

These are a few photos taken with my trusty camera, but not by me (just in case you missed that) they were taken by the baby (Anna) on my birthday.

Have a fabulous day today. What are your plans for today?

  1. Hi Brenda. Very nice photos. I loved your words about having your days reflect Gods glory, I must remember that. After work, I’ll be going to a scouts meeting, I’m secretary for our local scout group. Later this week, on Thursday, me & my husband are off to Spain to stay with my sister for few days, she moved out there with her husband last year & I’ve not been out to see her yet, we’re very excited, I can’t wait to see her precious, beautiful face. Xx

  2. Trade ya weather! HOT here, had a big thunderstorm go through last night, knocked our power out for about 3 hours, but nothing worse. My brother next county over had his trampoline tossed up into a tree, but that was it other than a few broken branches, nothing major. Gotta love Midwest weather!!

Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him—his name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. Psalm 68:4-5

Looks like a great way to spend your birthday, and hope it was a happy one!
