Can you believe November is right around the corner? Doesn’t it look like October spent a just a week with us? What did you do in October? Can you remember? How are you doing? This month is a great time to reflect on the past almost ten months and take stock. It is so easy to get lost in the busyness of life; to take our eyes off the Lord, without being aware of it. It is easy to be overwhelmed and consumed with the problems and difficulties that life sends our way. Sometimes it’s hard to understand the love of God; to accept the way He does what He does and acknowledge that His love for us is perfect and complete.

Yesterday, I read about the unexpected death of singer, Toby Mac’s son. On His Instagram post, he wrote these words, “we don’t follow God because we have some sort of under-the-table deal with Him, like we’ll follow you, if you bless us.” He continues with this, “we follow God because we love Him. It’s our honor”. This came less than two days after the death of his son. Wow! Such faith! I was inspired to pray for his wife, because I could not imagine the pain, this mama is experiencing right now.

During times of pain and distress, we need to remind ourselves that we are infinitely loved. My Great and wonderful God loves. He loves you, friends, with an unconditional and unwavering love. He loves you more than you can ever imagine. His love for you is beyond simple imagination. His thoughts about you far exceed anything conceivable. You can rely and depend on His love. You can rest assured that His plan for your life, has at its roots; it’s very foundation is based on His love. Psalm 139 is a great reminder of His love for us. Go ahead, read it for yourself, we have time! Here are few other places in scriptures, that tell of God’s love for us.

Life isn’t easy, and undeniably, we will all go through difficulties, but as Babbie Mason says in the chorus of her song, Trust His Heart’
God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don’t understand
When you don’t see His plan
When you can’t trace His hand
Trust His Heart

Let’s continue the conversation over on Instagram. Follow my Instagram and I will follow back, just let me know in the comment section. I would love to meet you 🙂

The news is sad – had to go read up on it. Such promising lad. But God does always know best!. Better than we do!
Love the referenced chapter – Ps 139!
A graceful one.

The words of that song are much like the words a pastor friend spoke to me when my first husband was killed in an accident leaving me a young widow with two little girls. After saying it is hard to understand why God would allow a young man who was a Christian father and husband to die while wicked men lived on he said “But this I know…God is too wise and too loving to make a mistake.”

sometimes, its the aligning what we know to be true with the emotions that struggles for dominance; now that is the biggest battle 🙂

Amen. I heard about the death of Toby Mac’s son on a Christian radio. They took time to pray for his family. It takes God’s grace to not blaspheme after such loss. It is well.

Such sad news when any young person dies. 😦 Yesterday I heard two interesting messages on Christian radio when I was out driving to and from the grocery store. The first one was about The Rich Man and Lazarus
(John 5:39-47) and the next one was about Fanny Crosby. In both of these , innocent people experienced bad lives by the worlds standards, but one of them went on to be with God after he died (while the rich, happy man went to Hell) and the other (blind lady) spent her life praising God in songs. I was trying to think how a non-believer or even a believer can make sense of the suffering and hardships in these people’s lives, as in Toby Mac’s family now, and still understand God as a loving God. The key is that we must not use the worlds standards to define love. Love means knowing and being known by God, finding peace in that despite hardships and trusting that one day we will leave this evil, corrupt world and be with Him. We should not expect an easy life, healing, riches, or even a long life itself. The whole concept of blessings in our culture has been skewed to those things instead of spiritual blessings. What do you think?

Amen 🙏🏽 and amen 🙏🏽 the blessings as the world sees it fail to understand that this world isn’t our home. We are strangers, being prepared by a great and mighty God for something far better; eternity with Him. I love this comment
