Hi Friends, how are you? Changes are coming, aren’t they? Sameness is never forever and I think that’s fortunate. Everything and everyone should change; we should do better and get better at doing better. Even the seasons change, even though a few of you may enjoy perpetual summery temperatures. The leaves fall off the trees, the rains are a bit more frequent, and some fruits are seasonal. As fall settles in my neck of the woods and the birds hurry to Florida, my mornings usually begin with silence. The days are getting shorter and cooler and rain is quickly becoming our new normal. “Winter is coming”, they say, “we just want you to be prepared”. But can you ever really be prepared for winter? In the beginning of our marriage, my husband and I prayed for a baby. A few months later, we received the news that I was pregnant. We were elated and thankful; the Lord had answered our prayers. About four months into the pregnancy, I started spotting and having cramps. In her office, our doctor delivered the worst news to us. We prayed and prayed and prayed, but four days later, I lost the baby. My heart was broken, I cried until there were no tears left and still I was inconsolable. How could God do something like that? How can He give something and then take it away? How can He be so cruel? Doesn’t He love me anymore? Did I do something to upset Him? Surely He can’t be as good as they say? Do you know God can handle these questions? He really, really can. He answered them when I asked, He continues to answer them, when my feelings control my thoughts and the Enemy of my soul tells me that God can’t be trusted. Here are a few lies, we should NEVER, NEVER believe…
- Nobody loves me
- We are innately good people
- We just need to love ourselves a little more
- We are in control
- We have to be and do good for God to love us
- God isn’t good
- God cannot be trusted
- God is cruel
- God doesn’t love me
- God can’t handle our frustrations
- God isn’t fair
Feelings don’t always tell the truth, do they? We can ‘feel’ fine and healthy, but that doesn’t mean we are. Because feelings can’t always be trusted, we can stand on the truth of God’s Word. In I Samuel 30, the Bible gives a great account of an episode in King David’s life. In verse 6 of that chapter, we are told David strengthened himself in the Lord. He reminded himself of what He knew to be true about God. I imagine he recited the scripture, he had already memorized. We need to remind ourselves of what we KNOW to be true about ourselves and about God. The truth is found in God’s Word; the truth is the Word of God. John 17:17
- We are so much loved that God sent His only Begotten Son to save us (John 3:16; Romans 5:8)
- We are not good people and we never will be (Isaiah 5:21;Romans 3:10, 23)
- Loving ourselves is hardly a problem, loving others is the real difficulty (Galatians 6:3; James 2:8)
- God is in control and we really, really want Him to be; (Isaiah 41:10; Psalm 46:1)
- Thankfully we don’t have to be good to be loved by God; the Bible tells us ‘all our goodness is as filthy rags’(Jeremiah 17:9) yet while we were sinners, Christ loved us’ (Romans 5:8)
- God is always good and He always does good. He can’t be anything less (Psalm 34:8; Romans :28)
- We can trust the Personhood, the works and the love of God (Proverbs 3:5,6; Hebrews 13:8)
- Cruelty cannot co-exist with love. God is either Love or cruel; He can’t be both (2 Peter 3:9; I John 4:10)
- You, yes, just you are loved. You are so loved and unique and so special and you are beautiful, created in the image of the almighty God. There has never been and there will never be another you. Psalm 139 was written just for you.
- God is Almighty, All-Powerful, and Great. He can handle our frustrations (I Peter 5:8). Tell Him and be prepared to be answered.
- Psalm 78 tells us as the author looked around him, he saw healthy, wealthy and seemingly happy people. He didn’t understand why they had it made and yet as much as he tried, he struggled and failed. Life just didn’t seem fair. But Romans 2:11 and Deuteronomy 10:17 tells a different tale.
TRUTH: We are loved unconditionally; we are cared for and cherished. This applies to every single human being; saved or unsaved. A Savior was sent to us to redeem us from the clutches of the Evil One because of that love. TRUTH: We can trust our God; He is always good, always faithful, always gracious, always merciful. TRUTH: Our feelings do not always tell the truth; so we put our trust in the truth of the Word of God. What are some lies you’ve heard or believed; how do you counter these lies?

Because as you said… God is Good, Gracious and Merciful, and Indeed, He is as you think He is. Ya?
To soothe your heart if you still grief and sorrow, let me cheer you up with some verses that might brightens up you day, ya? The verses are, “Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits of your toil, but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Who say, when afflicted with calamity: “To God We belong, and to Him we shall return”. They are those on whom (Descend) blessings from Allah, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance. Al Baqarah / The Heifer, 155-157. And this chapter, “If God knows any good in your hearts, He will give you something better than what was taken from you, and He will forgive you; and God is Forgiving and Merciful.” Al Anfal / The Bounties, 8:70. Oh, ya, read Mark 10: 17-19 too.

Amen! I think we limit the Lord, when we think He can’t handle those questions. He isn’t a man, He isn’t easily offended. He will answer, when we keep the lines of communication open

God Bless you Brenda!! My heart goes out to you on the passing of you and your husband child that you were carrying. I can personally relate to having a miscarrage, I had never had felt one until it happen to me. It was very painful, and I was very much hurt, angry etc. I don’t know wheather it was a boy or girl. I know this that I could hear the baby drop into a little container that the nurse had waiting for the child to come. The child would have been my second child. I went through all the emotions. I went through the blaming ((Game)) I was blaming myself, not God. I had reasons why I was blaming me. My body was so twisted. I had one good friend that was there for me, and I know God was there as well. I cried days and nights. They gave me pain medication for anxiety and depression when I was in the hosiptal. My nerveous was so twisted, and they wanted me to go home with some. But I refuse to be stuck on pain medication, but it was my choose. A dear friend she was there to support me. God’s Words are powerful… Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedge sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. I love that verse. Today I am Who I am today Only because of My Heavenly Father not that I was so good!! etc. But I’m here for a reason and purpose because I can relate to so many women who has tasted the pain of loosing a child. Thank you for sharing…((Hugs)) God Bless you and you continue doing His Will for His purpose. Amen!! Amen!!
P.S. Do forgive me I had to redo this because of my miss spelling LOL LOL

Thank you for sharing your story. I have a similar story and shared it in one of my blog posts. My husband and I experienced the same thing and it was so painful. We both asked the same questions you asked, but no answer. However, one year later, God blessed us with our first son together, and two years later our “bonus” son. We don’t always understand his ways or his plan, but we must remember He is perfect and He ALWAYS knows best. Blessings to you.

May the Lord be with your family; It’s hard to see the Hand of God during these times. It’s hard to not question His love, but it’s actually during those times that we need to keep talking to Him. He can handle the frustrations and sorrow. He gives us the time to grieve, while He holds us safely through this time

The enemy knows just where to aim for each of us, it seems. I’m grateful that the longer I walk with Jesus, the more sure I am of my identity in Him. He really does renew our minds and transform hearts, so I keep inviting Him to do it some more. 🙂 God bless you, Brenda. And thank you so much for all your prayers. Baby has safely arrived, but I’m still working on an announcement.

What a powerful message! Thank you for being so clear and loving with God’s Truth.
When I start questioning how God is dealing with me, it helps to step back and try to see the big picture – not just what is going on right now. God works in lives, and He deals with moment-by-moment details to conform us to His image. Sometimes those details don’t look so pretty to us, but, as your logo conveys, we are becoming His tapestry, not ours.

A powerful testament to God’s word. I was just looking at a video on Instagram and Devon Franklin was saying the same thing about how our emotions “lie” and/or “deceive” us. I know the enemy whispers many “untruthful” things in all of our ears and that’s just to get us discouraged and lose focus on what God has called us to do; unfortunately, I’ve listened to those whispers in times past and fell short BUT GOD! While he still does a little whispering today, the Bible says, whatsoever things are pure, lovely and so forth think on those things and that’s what I try to do. Great Post Sis!
