MY VERY ‘SLIGHT’ OBSESSION

Hey there friends, how are you today? It has been raining quite a bit in my neck of the woods.  The trees and the flowers say thank you to the King of Creation for the welcome respite from the recent heat and rather brief drought.  We were not the best care takers of our kitchen garden this year.  The weeds and the vegetables are vying for space, and with the recent rains and short bursts of sunshine, you can just imagine our work is cut out for us. This is a photo of last year’s garden; what a difference a year makes!img_1460Can you believe that this is the last Friday in the month of July? Too soon, we will be left with only five months in the year.  How has the past seven months been?  Do you know the Lord never took His eyes off you, not even for a second?   He knows your name, He understands your plight.  As a child of God, you are fearfully and wonderfully made.    You are created in His image and His plan for your life has been tailor made just for you, by the Master Creator.  His thoughts about you are so many, that they outnumber the sands on the sea; you are always on His mind.  You are precious in His sight.  IMG_4408There are few things I enjoy, I take pleasure in them; one is handbags.  I do believe I have a slight obsession, especially with this latest trend, which is the straw bag.   Now usually, I do not pay much attention to trends; they are not here to stay.  But this trend has been impossible to miss; they are EVERYWHERE! It’s such a different and beautiful piece, I had to get on the bandwagon.  It was not too hard and thankfully very inexpensive; I acquired every piece, but one at the thrift store.  As Solomon says in Ecclesiastes, there is nothing new under the sun; it has been done already. Seriously friends check out the thrift store.  strawbagsThis (#7) is the only one I bought on eBay and it was under $15.  Every handbag is different and can be worn with anything.  I love to use scarves or bag charms to tie the handbags to my outfit.  I got the scarves at…… you guessed it; the thrift store.  They are really pretty bags and I enjoy every one of them.  5F9F7B0A-B6CA-4870-BCBE-832F7E868A97 I have to admit my favorite is this one (#6); my girls bought it for me for my birthday.  I love the shells and the handles which add the most fun to this bag.   9A65C0C0-AF37-4444-885D-AF4008ACD901The Lord in His goodness has given us much to enjoy.  I take pleasure handbags and shoes and clothes and… the list goes on.  BUT these were never meant take the place of a Mighty, All-Powerful, Loving, Gracious, Merciful Savior.  matt 6 20, 21Check out my other social media accounts; just click on any of the social media icons and let’s continue to talk.  What do you think of this trend?   7. I love that trend! I haven’t gotten one yet, but I’m definitely getting one soon. Shame that summer will end soon, but we can always use it again next summer!

  16. Brenda I had no.7 handbag 38 years ago when I lived in Penang, Malaysia…handbag heaven! Lol!
    I also love their shops!

    I love the way you commented on how God’s plan for each one of us is so unique. I totally agree!

  17. Hi Brenda, one item that I would love to collect more of when the item presents itself is old bibles, specifically family bibles. I get them from estate sales and garage sales. I love to read through them and note all the highlighted scriptures, notes in the margin etc. It warms my soul!! 🙂 Love your messages!!
