MARCH FAVORITES

This is the last week of March already.  Can you believe it?  Then you blink and it’s Christmas.  IMG_0475What has the past three months brought to your life?  How have you responded to the lemons, the Lord has allowed?  There are very few things, we can control in our lives, but we do have control over our time spent with the Lord.  We can determine what our attitudes and behaviors should be, in spite of the circumstances.  Because, I can’t slow down the time, I will live life purposefully. I will be intentional in my walk with the Lord.  What about you? Care to live your best life now?  Then join me on this journey, as we resolve to make this year an outstanding one!  Here are a few of my favorites for the month of March.

FASHION FAVORITES IMG_0484These are a pair of NYC skinny jeans, I got at the thrift store.  I wanted a pair of distressed jeans and the most inexpensive option was to do it myself.  I love it! Try it with an old pair of jeans; cut out the bottom seam, measure and make a slit at the knee.  After repeated washing; Voila! The jeans are soft and comfortable, and the fit is exceptional.   My other favorite is that of structured handbags. IMG_0488This one in particular is an essential part of my wardrobe.  It fits everything a woman needs with her, in spite of the size.  I like the two tone smooth grained leather and the silver hardware adds a great finishing touch. But it makes it into my favorites this month, simply because my Sweetheart bought it for me as a Christmas gift. Included in this month’s Favorites has to be these shoes. IMG_0487They are a pair of Vera Wang. They support the feet with a stretchy, elastic band. They are without a doubt, the most comfortable, heeled pair of shoes I own. I literally had to measure the heels, (they are 4.5 inches) because they feel like flats!  They are wonderful.

BEAUTY FAVORITESIMG_0494

This is my third bottle of L’Oreal True Match foundation. IMG_0491It is easy to apply; fingers, brush or beauty blender will do.  I prefer this stippling brush. IMG_0493It is by Real Techniques.   This is my go-to foundation.  I reach for it more often than any other in my collection. (I know right?  I have a collection :))   It provides a beautiful, dewy look. It a drug store foundation, so quite economical. The Laura Mercier Translucent powder has been my choice of setting powder for over six months. IMG_0490 I love the complete look with this, it is very light, and initially it gives a matte finish. Of course, I have to share it with the girls and I guess they agree with me.  It is an expensive powder (at least for me) so be aware of that, if you want to try it out.

GROWING FAVORITES

Now on to my favorite kind of favorites. From the Bible, I am reading the Books of Titus along with Proverbs 31.  IMG_0365I am still reading Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth’s new book; Adorned and I do absolutely recommend this book. For Growing Favorites I thought I would share with you a verse that I have been memorizing and trying to make a part of my life.  It is found in Psalms 141:3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.  I love that verse!  I love to talk, and I can sometimes talk too much. I am reminded of another verse: Proverbs 31:26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.  There is an analogy I heard a few years ago; “words are like toothpaste, when they leave the mouth, it is impossible to fit back in”.  These verses are a reminder to listen more, speak less and to think before speaking, that my opinions are not necessarily the gospel.  God’s Word and His only is Truth.  Pray for me, this is harder than I thought it would be!  Because I will be intentional in my walk, when I look back at 2017, I want to say I have improved in that area of my life.  What verses are you memorizing?
