Hey friends, how are you today? It’s a beautiful day in my neck of the woods. Although today may be seen through the eyes of the beholder. Today is a damp, dull, dreary, dismal, depressing day. It’s a rainy day today. I love the glum and gloom of the day. I enjoy the coziness of the day, the comfort of the blankets and the contentment of warm soup. It’s a beautiful day in my neck of the woods. What does the weather look like in your neck of the woods?

I love cityscapes, almost as much as I enjoy landscapes. Especially through the lens of wet, gloomy days. And especially as our family drives past. Do you wonder like me, who lives of the people who live in these cities?

Are they kind, helpful and generous? Or are selfish and self-centered? I like to people watch. In fact, it’s one of my favorite pastimes. I like to make up stories about them. They may have a family. They may be married for fifty-two years. They are perhaps grandmothers or even great-grandmothers. Some maybe rich, while others maybe struggling financially. Do you like to people watch?

What percentage of the city’s population are Christians, I wonder? Have they heard about Him? How many go to church? How many see Him in the beauty around them? Do I have a responsibility toward people I’ve never met?

I can pray for them, even though I don’t know their names. I can pray for their salvation, though I may not know anything about them. I can live a life wholly developed to Jesus. Which may lead others to Christ, without a word from my lips. I can proclaim the name of Jesus to those around me. They can then take that Word and spread it to others who like in the city.

On this gloomy, rainy day, I should be the light that reflects the love of God. How are you today?

Do you prefer cityscapes or landscapes?

I prefer landscapes. I do like to people-watch. I do like the warmth we can find in a gloomy day and a bowl of soup. And yes, I want to be a light of the Lord’s love to others.

I’m with you, Brenda. There’s much to enjoy in the coziness of home on rainy, overcast days. (But I must say, rainy days were not my favorite when I taught elementary school! With no outdoor recess, the children did get restless. Indoor games just weren’t sufficient!) P.S. I do enjoy cityscapes–especially those with older, architecturally interesting buildings. But it’s the landscapes that make my heart sing!

Me too. I enjoy the cityscapes for exactly that same reason. Oh yes, I do remember those days of school room and rainy days. I don’t think any of us enjoyed those days. But how grateful I am for time. The Lord is best redeemer of time

Hi Brenda! It’s a sunny, breezy day in my corner of Iowa today so the farmers are busy harvesting. I like landscapes the best. City-scapes can be beautiful too and especially the people who inhabit them 🙂

I love that! Harvesting is still going on in your neck of the woods. We are now too cool. Our temperature is now dropping to the 30s°. I’m not ready. 😂 Faithful is our God.

Hi Brenda! We too have had rainy, dreary days, but they are great days to relax and enjoy the slower pace.
I have been attempting to do more walking prayers, saying prayers for the people I pass and the people in the houses I pass on my morning walk.
Landscapes are my favorite, especially natural landscapes. 🌺💕🌺

Like you, I like both, but I suppose I lean more towards landscapes than man-made buildings. And like you I pray when I see the throngs of people in those cities.

Definitely a landscape girl here, not a city girl. But I am a people-watcher like you, and often feel led to pray.
I love the joy you exude. Thank you for blessings. ☺️

Thank you, my friend. I do love landscapes. Cityscapes give a different feeling. I see nature when I see landscapes. I see people when I see cityscapes. Our God is good

I love your outlook! The day is what we choose to make it and our attitude towards it. I also like that you notice not just the city but the fact that the people there need our prayers just as people everywhere do. We all need the Lord! Have a blessed weekend, Brenda! Thank you for your encouraging words.

I’m with Carole! Growing up near Chicago and now living in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, I’m for landscapes!
