Hey friends, how are you today? It’s a beautiful day today in my neck of the woods.  The day began a bit chilly; a mere 46° in the early morning.  But the sun is out and the skies are blue with not even a hint of clouds.  Ahh…can you hear the sounds of the birds? They do not whisper, do they? They cry out loud.  

They shout ‘hello’ to their neighbors.  Perhaps they warn their friends of nearby danger.  They may be thankful, just as I am, with the bright, beautiful day, today.  I wonder if birds are brave and fearless? They certainly seem to be, as they flitter from tree to tree.   Birds are fascinating, don’t you think? The variety in their plumage, the differences in the chirps; surely our God loves beauty.  

Even these insignificant creatures do not escape the notice of our God.  He sees them, He protects them as He sees fit.  He provides for them.  

And then He tells us how much more will He provide for us, His children.  This Great and Mighty God says there is no need to be anxious about tomorrow. No need to worry about food or clothing.  He will provide it all for us.  He tells us we are far more valuable than birds in all their beauty.  

We are valuable because of the price the Lord placed on our lives.  He gives us worth because we are created in His image.  We are priceless because He decided it would be so. 

Life is uncertain, life can be unsteady at time.  But nothing takes our God by surprise. He invites us to consider the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. And then to ponder on the fact that we are far more loved, far more protected. And provided for, far more than they.  

How do we know that for us? He assures us through the relationship we have with Him.
