DARK CLOUDS ARE COMING

Hey friends, how are you today? How was your week? Happy May Day, friends.  Can you believe it’s May already?  I still can’t say where time goes, lately.  I blinked and the calendar said April.  And now it’s May.  Time seems to move so quickly.  Our temperature has been cooler lately. 52° is the norm on more days than not.  And although I have heard of the old adage; ‘April showers bring May flowers’, can I please have some sunshine, Lord?

It’s a beautiful, bright, sunny day. The skies are blue with frost in the air. Sunny days and warm weather, how I long for you. Yes, yes, whining and complaining today. I have five minutes, well maybe five seconds. Ok. The pity party is over. This is not the end of the story. Thankfully, the sun is out because lately cloudy and rainy weather was our tale.

The clouds have been grey, dark and quite depressing.   And some days the sun just can’t be found.  I am reminded on days like these that life isn’t all sunshine and roses.  As a matter of fact, our Lord promises we will have trouble.  But He also promises us peace because He has overcome the world.

Cloudy days are good days.  Days with rain and thunder and lightning are beautiful days.  Because we are not left alone.  We have the King of kings and the Lord of lords on our side. He knows our names. We are His.  He is mighty and all powerful.  He is gracious and kind.  We can trust Him to see us through whatever the dark clouds bring our way.  Faithful is our God to keep His promises.

How are you? What’s your favorite season? How do you handle difficulty?

  1. I’m not sure what my favorite season is … winter is probably my least favorit but even it has beautiful snow when sprinkled with diamonds of sunshine.

I usually handle difficulty by leaning on Jesus.

  2. I like spring, all the pretty spring flowers, they make me smile. In the morning when I walk I see God in the beauty of nature that surrounds us. Peace and blessings! 🌺💕

  3. I have a new tool when the next difficulty presents itself. Actually, it’s not so new–it’s based on our ages-old scriptures! I’m in the process of copying into a small journal those verses or partial verses that highlight something uplifting about God–like Psalm 18:2 which you included in your post! I started with the psalms, still had pages left, moved on to Proverbs, still had pages left, and am currently working through Isaiah. Now I’ll have lots of positive input to refer to, pray back to God, and keep myself encouraged.

    • It’s so beautiful. I thought I loved sunshiny days only, but then the loud, noisy sounds of rain and thunder come near and I love that too. I am thankful for the Lord’s weather. Still working on enjoying the snow ⛄️😂😂

  4. I love that, even though cloudy/rainy days feel gloomy and sad, God has wonderful purposes for them, in that they bring much-needed rain and coolness to us, making things better. It’s like that for trials & tribulations. We don’t much like going through them, but God has wonderful purposes for them.

  5. I love fall and spring. Fall because of the colors and spring for the freshness all around me. I handle challenges by pressing in closer to God and spending more time with Him in His Word and with praise songs. Yesterday, I spent much of the morning listening to classical hymns. Uplifting and just what I needed!

  6. Time is flying by so fast. May already… It feels like just a few weeks ago we were celebrating the New Year.

I love Fall, something about the quiet and the colors and of course, ALL things Pumpkin Spice and Apple Cider… When things get hard (As they always do), I try to slow down, pray, and remember He’s still in it with me. One step at a time.
