Hey friends, how are you today? How was your week? I had a good week (thanks for asking). I wrote my ‘To Do’ list every day this week. I attempted to finish every task on my list. Some days were better than others. The Lord helps with my rigidity, when it comes to my tasks. He allows the ‘people’ interruptions to remind me to always choose the ‘good part’.

It is snowing in my neck of the woods. Beautiful, white flurry flakes of snow. It falls so fast and is so fine that it looks like raindrops. The clouds have completely blanketed the skies. But because of the snow, the outside is bright and clear. The ground is covered with snow there is no patches of green or brown.

The snow brings to mind the words of the song; ‘now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow’. I can’t imagine anything ‘whiter than snow’. When the ray of the sun hits the snow, it can actually be blinding.

The psalmist David said it first in Psalm 51. The Lord’s forgiveness is a beautiful thing, isn’t it? The absolute removal of our sin, when we confess to our God. The grace and the mercy that the Lord, the Creator of Heaven and Earth displays toward us in forgiveness. The debt we owned that Jesus Christ paid in our place.

We are called to be holy, as Christians. For us, this includes repentance for our daily sins. Daily sins, you say? I know right… for a minute there I thought I was quite perfect. It’s a good thing the Lord breathed His perfect Word. So that people like me can remember that in order to be holy, there must be forgiveness. There is no need to be forgiven if I’m already perfect, right?

But our God, Who loves completely forgives completely too. He forgives for the self-righteous thoughts. He forgives when I think my ‘works are weightier than others. He takes my sins as far east is from the west.

He washes away our sin and makes us ‘whiter than snow’, when we repent. When we ask the Lord to forgive us, He does just that.

There is liberty in forgiveness. There are peace and joy in forgiveness. Forgiveness is one of the gifts, we need to ask for, but it is freely given. We don’t have to pay for it. It is granted to all who ask.

Do you know the Lord as your Savior? Have you experienced snow?

Amen to this. I may not like snow or winter at all, and it is minus 15 here today, but I love the reminder of His forgiveness. Even in the cold, God’s Grace still covers us and makes us clean. Always thankful for that.

I have experienced a lot of snow, especially when we lived in Maine. I loved the pristine whiteness of the snow when it first fell. Like you, it reminded me of scripture. No snow here in VA now, just very cold for a few days.

Some days I cannot decide whether I like the snow or not 🙂 But on days like these, the Lord allows me to see His faithfulness and grace.
