Hey friends, how are you today? How was your week? We have had the most indecisive weather known to man. It has been uncomfortably hot, annoyingly rainy and despairingly chilly, all during the span of a week. The past few days, I’ve spent a lot of time at a local state park. It is called Green Lakes. I do not swim, as you already know. However, there are so many sights and sounds to enjoy. These make the trip there worthwhile.

On Monday, we enjoyed a balmy 93°, today our morning began in the 60s’. I give up. From now on, I’ll just take it one day at a time. Huh! Wonder where I heard that before?

It’s always good to make plans. Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of this country, said, “if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail”. But he was not the original person with that thought. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 21:5.

Plans inevitably may need some adjustments. Holding on to our plans too tightly will cause distress. This affects not only me but also those around me. Sometimes, rain falls. At times, the temperature drops. Other times, the sun hits a little too close to the earth, which is less comfortable. Adjustments have to be made.

Sometimes the Lord sends roadblocks and it’s for our good. Adjustments have to be made. During these times, we trust the God of the universe with our plans. We commit it to Him. We take a deep breath and trust that He will make something beautiful with what we have given Him.

If ever you are in my neck of the woods, visit Green Lakes. You won’t regret it.

I hate when I make plans and they fail to materialize. How about you? How tightly do you hold on to your plans? How do you deal with plans that never made it?

Beautiful lake! Had to google search extra pics! And yep like your post says we have to hold onto our plans loosely, but it’s not always easy!🤪

I know and I know. Even with the all the knowledge, we have of the Word of God, I found myself struggling to let go. One step at a time.

Such beautiful pictures. We’ll considering I’m a planner, lol, I don’t like it when things change😐 however this last year and half it’s been all over the place and I’m learning to let some of that go because I had too. We lost my father in law last May but 6 months before was trips back and forth to help then when he past it was having to get things done and ready to sell the house etc. my dad has been in the hand rehab 10 times since last June. So there has been a lot of unexpected times and changes. Things seem to have settled down some the last month or so. For a while I found myself just bracing for the next shoe to drop. Thankful God has been with us every step of the way 🩷🙏

I gave up planning as soon as I married Anita. She was so much wiser in making them than I ever hoped to be!! So now I just have to ask, “Where are we going today, dear?”😂

Beautiful pics. I have found plans made while praying and seeking God’s guidance tend to work out much better for me.
Maybe you can take swimming lessons. 🙂

Hi Brenda, Yes, I like to make plans and it is hard for me to change plans midstream…may God help me be more flexible! I think changeable weather reminds us HE is in control 🙂

Lovely pictures. The lake looks so dreamy. I agree with you that sometimes the roadblocks are for our own good. I take comfort in knowing that God has the ultimate plan of my life, to prosper me and not to harm me.

I love the beautiful photos. And as far as plans, I am one who hates change so when plans have to change, I have to regroup my entire mindset. That being said, I am learning to hold my plans with my hand out to God and ask Him to change it, adjust it or give me a whole new plan.

I do make very loose plans because I’ve found they change more often than not. Since I ask the Lord to order my day, I must thank him.

I do enjoy your photos. How unique those trees & roots are!
Ah, plans. God is teaching me to be v-e-r-y flexible. I lay out in my mind what I’d like to accomplish each day, but my time is not my own, as He daily reminds me. ☺️

I read somewhere that a weather forecast is only good for about 6 hours… then it changes! Not sure I agree with it, they’re pretty good at forecasting severe weather, thankfully.
It is said history repeats itself, well, so does the weather! 🙂
The older I get (and I’m old!) I learn that plans are good, and broken plans are sometimges better (Romans 8:28). No need to fret!
Great pictures, by the way!

Beautiful lake! The weather has really been all over the place for New York and the whole country! I feel you on the plans that don’t work out. I’ve almost given up on making any plans. I try to take it day by day but still have a goal in sight. Currently I am dealing with my husband’s health issues, (my daughter is stable, Praise the Lord!) while also studying for hours a day for a tax exam that may or may not ever be used in my life since as I said, I have no idea whether my plans will materialize. 😀 But I like studying , so I will keep at it. Have a blessed day ! ❤

Have at it, my friend. While at college, our daughter once told me, her professor said, “go until God says stop”. I don’t always remember that, but it’s a good one.
