LOOK BACK, THERE IS HOPE

Hey friends, how are you today? Can you believe today is November 1st, already? We are two months away from the end of the year!  Winter usually comes early to my neck of the woods, but this year, fall has stuck around.  I think creation is confused over the unseasonal warm weather, we’ve experienced, with no end in sight.  Although the evenings are certainly cooler, even chilly at times, the daytime usually welcomes weather much warmer than it should be, at this time of the year.  And yes, I say, “…thank You, my Heavenly Father, thank You for this weather.”  What has your weather been like, this past week? I heard snow has arrived to some parts of the US,

Today, we go back though.  As we prepare to close out the year, I can’t help but give thanks for the past few months.  The Lord is gracious and good and kind.  He gives and He takes away, yet through it all and in it all, He works for our good and for His glory.  His glory is for our good.  His glory is for my good.

There have been times, especially lately when I have had to remind myself of this again and again.  It’s not hard, when difficulties come our way to believe we are alone in this.  When the truth is so far from this belief.  We are not alone, never alone, because our Creator God promised He would never leave us.  He keeps His promises, He can do no less.

As we walk with the Lord, we build history.  This history is our testimony of His faithfulness to us.  When difficulties come, we find His footprints in the sand.  We know He is there because He was there when I had that miscarriage.  He was there during the news of this illness.  He gave hope when things seemed hopeless. He becomes our Hope.

Look back, see His footprints in the sand.  There may have times when we thought those footprints must have been ours.  Yet, I remain convinced that we are here, where-ever here is, because of His patience and faithfulness to us.  It could always have been worse.

You don’t believe me? Hell is the absolute worse place we could be today. Yet, here we are, and Heaven is our destination.  Yes, it could be worse.

Let us give thanks today.  Indeed, look what the Lord has done in our lives.  We live and move and have our being, only because of Him.

  2. Thanks for sharing your summer/fall photos and encouraging words from God’s Word…always good to read your blog, Brenda!

In August, we visited family & friends in Denver, Colorado,, took in a Christian concert at Red Rocks, and then spent a few days at Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park enjoying the hikes and scenery.

We’ve enjoyed beautiful fall weather for harvest in Iowa…yes, God is good!

  3. Love the pics – especially the sunset in GA. Glad you had some good travels. It has been unseasonally warm here, but today cold temps have arrived. Hard to believe we almost have another year under our belt. As I age, the years began to show me that this body is slowly fading away – but then I am reminded how much closer I am to the Lord. I think of the story of Enoch walking with God. I imagine each day they walked a little further. Finally, one day God said “Enoch, we are closer to my house than yours. Come on home with me.” What a great day that will be. However, like most, I’m still ready to spend a few more years here with my hubby. But stay or go – God is with us.

  4. Wow, Niagara Falls! Beautiful.

And in your ice cream picture, it’s just the right angle to see a tree halo around your head. 😍

Yes, the traveling days of summer / fall are over. We had lots of visitors / house guests, and we went lots of places. Time to hunker down and see what God will bring for winter weather. I’ve got soup simmering today.
