Hey friends, how are you? How have you been? Can you believe June has almost come to an end? We have almost gone through half of the year already. Where did the time go? I haven’t been able to say whether our summer’s temperature will be hot or cool, because so far, we’ve been on both ends of the spectrum.

SUMMER TEMPS…
I think if I had a choice, I’d choose hot, although the hot flashes seem to be more frequent during the hot days, so perhaps not (how many times, can I say ‘hot’). Yesterday, our temperature barely brushed the 70° mark, I think that’s too cool for summer, don’t you? Last week, on the other hand, we were flirting with temperatures of almost 100°, here in Upstate NY. And we’ve had almost as many sunny days as we’ve had rainy days. The trees and flowers and especially our little kitchen garden have flourished. If you had a choice, what kind of weather would you choose for your summer?

BEAUTY IN THE SEASONS
I do love the summer, I wanted to choose it as my favorite time of the year, but then I remembered the fall colors and cooler air and realized I loved that time too, and then the winter, with its fresh, crisp, white snow and absolute frigid temperatures and I do enjoy those days. And then there is the spring which heralds the birds and new shoots and flowers and well, it’s a beautiful time of the year. I guess our God is pretty amazing, isn’t He? He brings such beauty and grants us joy and peace and laughter, if only we would dare to grasp it.

But, because this is summer, here in our hemisphere and we have been told to be content with what we have, here are five reasons I love this time of the year.
- There are more people outside. Now, some of you may know by now, that I’m not necessarily a people person. Give me a task and I’m usually in my element. But God loves people and so I want to love people too. This is me, loving people.

- 2. I’m a novice bird watcher. I just like to see them. They come in a variety of colors and sizes. They remind me that the Lord provides and protects them. They remind me to be content, to be at peace, because their God is my God and He loves me more than He loves them.

- 3. I love being out in nature. The trees seem to be bigger, more solid. They seem to encourage the animals to find shelter, to seek protection, to feed from them. They seem to be content to be near each other.

- 4. Summer loves bright, vibrant colors. There is nothing subdued about this time of the year. The flowers bloom in a variety of striking hues. They are pink and red and purple.

- 5. I must admit, another of my favorite thing about summer, is its weather. I love the warmth. I love the sunshine. I love the thunderstorms that follow the hot, humid days. I love that shorts and tee shirts and simple dresses are literally my uniform during this time of the year.

Do you have a favorite season? Or are they all your favorites? What do you like about this time of the year?

In the Caribbean I only have dry and wet season,. In my opinion it’s always hot. Now for the time that I lived overseas, spring was always my favorite, although it came with the ills of hay fever.

I’m from the Caribbean too 🥰 and yes it’s just hot. I must admit the cold was a bit challenging at first. Thank God for the seasons

I typically like spring the best but this past year, I really enjoyed fall. It was very serene. I prefer temps that are mid 60’s to mid 70’s because it’s nice walking weather. But lately we’ve had very hot weather, in the 90’s. Enjoy your summer. Nice pictures!

We did too, it was hot, but good. 👍🏽 I love sunny days, warm days, I do love cooler days too, especially because of menopause. But great is God

Summer is my favorite because of the slower days and vibrant colors. I love all of your beautiful photos. (Sorry if I commented twice. My phone is glitchy.)

Thanks for all the beautiful pictures. Spring is probably my favorite season,, but summer and fall are beautiful too. I am not a fan of winter as at my age I don’t get out as much. The days are shorter and the nights can seem too long. Summer in Michigan is great as the sun does not set until almost 10 p.m.

So it does here too, (the sun that is). I do love the summer though. I love the warmth, the sunny days, the sounds of the animals. I love it all

Beautiful pictures. I’m not sure I have a favorite season. I do like summer because we have our summer camps with the children and teens.

Spring is a favorite; I love seeing the flowers of spring in bloom after a long winter. Summer is beautiful with the wonderful colors of nature and flowers. After a hot summer, fall is refreshing, and autumn leaves are stunning. In winter, I like the quiet days and nights, but usually, I am counting the days until spring.
Brenda, your photos are wonderful! 🌺😎🌻

Fall and winter are def my fav. I love everything about it. I always want to enjoy and love summer but it’s a struggle lol. Menopause makes it so much harder😰😰
Such beautiful pictures sweetie! Big hugs🩷🤗

Menopause is a whole conversation, those hot flashes just keep coming during these warm days, that’s the downside of the warm weather. V

Winter is my favorite! (I know, I’m weird.🥴) Fall comes a close second and spring a distant third, while summer is waaaay down the list of my unfavorite things. Even with our hiking and gardening, I would rather do that all in coats and greenhouses.
A Canadian friend notes, “There is no such thing as ‘too cold;’ only ‘inadequate clothing.’”😄 After all, you can always dress more for winter, but when it gets too hot, you can only take so much off before your neighbors call the police‼️😂
Come to Kentucky in the summer though as we will take you to Natural Bridge or Mammoth Cave! Always 54F in the caves.

😂😂 you are one of the few who love winter. Most of the people I know complain bitterly about the cold and the snow. ❄️ I do enjoy the snow, but I like the summer too 😂. I do plan to visit Kentucky, prayerfully soon.
