JOY COMES IN THE MORNING…

Hey friends, how are you today? How was your week? At this rate, the end of the year will come so quickly that we will get whiplash. Happy March, friends, (can you believe it?) may the Lord continue to bless you abundantly and may you choose the ‘see’ the blessings in all circumstances.

WEATHER CHANGES

The past two months have brought unprecedented changes in our weather.  We’ve had more spring in winter than ever before recorded, perhaps because it’s a leap year?   The last day of February though, the day that brought us a leap year decided to remind us that this is the winter season.  That day arrived with snow and wind and chills. We survived almost a foot of snow.

The boys and girls were grateful for a snow day; well, …  the teachers were, I think; at least the teacher in our house was very grateful.  She lazed around the house for most of the day with a genuine smile on her face.  Ahh… the sweet blessings of God.

CHANGES ARE COMING

Today, the sun is out, the skies are blue, the temperature is higher already than it was all day yesterday, and like rose petals unfurl, so the humans in this house get ready for the day; gingerly.  We all have outside appointments to keep today, doctor’s, work, school.

BUT LIVE LIFE FULLY ANYWAY

Life must be lived; mere existence is not an option.   Although, at times, mere existence is all that we can muster.  On those days we bring as many godly and wonderful people as bearable and spread the weight of the burdens around, just for while, as we huddle beneath their comfort.

LOOK UP, CHILD…LOOK UP!

Then we look up, not into the eyes of our friends and family, but into the precious Word of God and realize that spring is here, not because it’s actually spring, but it begins to feel like spring because we’ve allowed ourselves to be comforted by the Word of God and His Spirit.  Along with those who brought comfort, there we are reminded of grace and truth and there we are renewed with hope.

JOY COMES IN THE MORNING

So, as winter flows into spring and brings with her wonderful changes to our world, so also, we are reminded that though ‘weeping may endure for the night, joy comes in the morning’.  It’s a good day because our God is in control.  He controls both the winter and the spring, both death and life.

THESE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN JUST TWO DAYS BEFORE THE SNOWSTORM

How are you? What changes have been allowed in your life thus far?

  1. I love this thought: Then we look up, not into the eyes of our friends and family, but into the precious Word of God and realize that spring is here, not because it’s actually spring, but it begins to feel like spring because we’ve allowed ourselves to be comforted by the Word of God and His Spirit.

    So lovely.

  2. Such wisdom, Brenda. Thank you, sister!
My favorite section was the “Live Life Anyway” part:

“Life must be lived; mere existence is not an option. “

And your Rx for how to continue in when existing is all you can muster—circle the prayer wagons!

    Amen and AMEN!!

  3. Yes, may we see His blessings, even when “mere existence is all that we can muster.”

We wonder what kind of weather and tribulation God might have in store for us even later this year. We’re also on a roller coaster of degrees: 34/73 on Monday, 7/45 Tues with a blizzard (55 mph winds), 3/30 Wed with bright sun, 22/60 yesterday, and it’s supposed to get up to 70 today. We are in an agricultural community, and farmers depend on the weather. We depend on God, Who controls the weather, but we feel He must judge us, given the culture.
