Hey friends, how are you today? It’s another beautiful day in my neighborhood. The skies are clear, the sun is out and even the sounds of the winter birds can be heard. Currently our temperature is a wonderful 34°, but the high today is a glorious 41°. Can you believe it? This is January, usually the coldest month of the year and we are above freezing temperatures! Great is our God! Of course, He still remains great even when the temperature drops below 0°, because He is God and there is none like Him. Today is another bright, beautiful, beguiling day. It’s another grand, gratifying, glorious day because ‘this is the day that the Lord has made, I choose to rejoice and be glad it”. How is your day?

I told you in Tuesday’s post that throughout the year, “we came, we saw, and we conquered” (“Veni, vedi, Vinci” – Julius Caesar) but rather than tell you more about our travels and experiences, I thought I’d rather show you. Spend some time with me as I take you back to our summer.

How was your summer? What do you do to relax and decompress?
Check me out on Instagram. Let’s continue the conversation over on Instagram. Follow my Instagram and I will follow back, just let me know in the comment section. I would love to meet you 🙂

Love all the photos on the blogs I’m catching up on. I survived triple digit temps for most of 2023, so today’s mid 30’s is not an excuse to complain. I am trying to fight staying indoors, though, as I need to go to wally world and our mode of transport is a mobility scooter as we don’t own a vehicle at this time. Not so keen on freezing my face off and my husband is giving me looks. He spent time in the Persian Gulf or Bering Sea or both, while he was in the navy and it was during the snow/ice season. So he has no sympathy for me – lol. I do want to catch up on your blogs before I go.

Whoo! As I read this, it is -16 (yes, minus 16) with winds 30 – 50 mph, wind chills to -50. We are under a blizzard warning, and a life-threatening wind chill warning. I’m loving your summer photos.
(I especially like the moon shot, and those of your family.)
We had a bittersweet summer, with the death of my dad, two family reunions (one on my side, one on his ☺), and a 50th class reunion. Thank you for asking: I know you really read these replies. 😘
It’s good to see you ‘back in the blog.’ I’ll see how God leads on my side of that. ❤

🥶🥶🥶bring on the chills 😱I’m so very sorry for your loss, my friend. My uncle/dad)pastor also rather unexpectedly, expectedly (if you know what I mean) died last year too. My heart was broken, but our God is faithful and gracious to us. He gives blessings within the sorrow and therein our hope lies. We know He is trustworthy. Class reunions are fun, it is always a pleasure meeting friends. Thank you, my friend for the encouragement, I truly do appreciate it

Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos. My son and daughter-in-law live in Syracuse. We spent a week there see many sights in NY, such as the 1000 Islands and Bold castle, Syracuse zoo, Canal Museum, and Letchworth State Park. There are twin baby elephants at the zoo, and I have so many videos of them playing. In the fall, we spent five days in the Adirondack mountains camping in our van and hiking, so very beautiful.
