Hey friends, how are you doing? Its September friends; we are three months away from the end of the year, can you believe it? Still feels and looks like March though. We’ve spent the last four months, adapting to a new normal, or perhaps you’re like me, instead of adapting, I found myself, waiting and waiting for my ‘old’ normal. I don’t like change, I really don’t want to adapt, I want things to go back to normal. I want life to go back to what I know to be familiar, therefore, I found myself waiting and I’m still waiting. I’ve spoken to the Lord about this, He spoke back, of course, as He always does. I expected life to go back to normal then, because as you know, I’m His favorite child, or so I thought.

But of course, here we are four months later and instead of getting better, it seems like we are regressing. Well even in this, the Lord continues to speak, He reminds me of the sufficiency of His grace, in my weakness’; He reminds me of His strength when I’m weak. He promised His presence through every trial or tribulation, and He promised to provide and protect, just as He does with the lilies of the field and the birds of the air.

So, then what should be my response to this then; perhaps I need to be reminded of Mary’s answer, when the angel of the Lord appeared to her on that fateful day, so many years ago;

Maybe then, I will begin to live life, the way my Savior intended, in spite of the circumstances. Maybe then, I will see the beauty that’s just waiting for my eyes to focus. How are you doing?

Ooh, wow! I love your beautiful water pics!
I understand wanting to go back to our old normal, (especially the mask wearing part) but I wonder if we were maybe blind to how much of our old normal was way off track from where God wanted us. I’m thinking of the Lord’s warnings to the various churches in Revelation 2 and 3. For example, how many of us had lost our first love? How many of us thought we had need of nothing and had cast off our true worship of the Lord? How many of us were lukewarm to the things of God? How many of us were truly witnessing for Jesus? How many of us were searching more for the American dream than for the will of God? These are just some thoughts that have gone through my mind during this last few months. I do believe that the majority of us have plenty we need to repent of.

Amen and amen 🙏🏽 we most certainly do have plenty to repent of, but that’s a good thing

Ya I have a feeling things aren’t going back to “normal”….I’ve grown so much closer to God through prayer during this time…which is a positive blessing in the midst of the craziness❤️
Beautiful photos!!

I love your pictures! I want this virus to be gone, however I like the more relaxed lifestyle, especially the working from home. I’m glad we can keep trusting the Lord through this craziness. Thanks Brenda! ☀️💕

I hear ya, sister! Last Friday, the thought crossed my mind, “What if wearing masks in the classroom is not ‘temporary’?” I’ve been living in a temporary state of mind and I really don’t want to change😂

😂😂😂I’ve been waiting and waiting for things to go back to the familiar, but what if it never does? I must trust that God will always do right

I so long for things to go back to “nornal” but when the masks go away and the election is over, I hope we are not the same. God has been doing a good work in me that couldn’t have come about any other way. I want my new normal to be more… more focus on God and the things that matter most. Have a blessed weekend!

Your photos are awesome, Brenda! Like you, I have had difficulty with change and I want to go back to normal, whatever that is. But God has been speaking to my heart and telling me that He will be with me throughout this “new normal.”

Love this Vickie, this ‘new normal” will take a bit of adjustments, but we will persevere and come out victorious

I SO want the old normal back. And sometimes I’m in denial. But, thank God I got this new camera two years ago, and I’ve spent this year looking for jewels in nature all around me. We’ve discovered new areas to walk, and a new preserve in construction. We explore together, I explore alone, and out in nature I’m able to refocus. I, too, love your photo on the ocean! That is my happy place! And I’m mad I haven’t been able to go back. But, by God’s grace, we are going to give it a shot next month. Yes, I know in my heart, God’s got this! 😊💜🙏🏻

Always so inspiring. Yes these times are difficult but through this God has allowed us to be here and is seeing us through it. We will get through this and I can’t wait but like you I’m so thankful to God that he’s with us along the way. Your words always give me courage. Thank you for being such an inspiration. God Bless you and your family and I hope your mom is feeling better.

She had good days and bad days. Today, she had a good day, but in all things, we learn that life is a privilege and gift from God. It is to be lived to its fullest

Adapting to curve balls in life has basically been my life since rededicating my life to Jesus in 1989. The key phrase impressed upon a group from my church preparing to go to Romania in 1997 was-Be Flexible. Be flexible feels like my whole way of life.

Be flexible … I like that, I don’t like it, but it’s necessary. 😁

I am enjoying each day as the Lord gives it…I will admit some I enjoy more than others. But God is good and He loves me. I’m doing well, thanks for asking.

I love your photos; but especially the flip flop beach pic. Ahhhh.
We were discussing circumstances this week in our Ladies Book Study (Elisabeth Eliott’s Be Still My Soul). What a peace to know – to BELIEVE – that whatever happens is okay with God, nothing surprises Him, and it’s all because He loves us so much.
