Hey friends, how are you today? Really, I do want to know; how are you doing? It is a dark, damp, dreary, dull, dismal day (yep, I did it), pretty much how I feel today.  Oh, but it’s a warm, presently 64° and high of over 70° (praise the Lord!).  I’ve been a bit under the weather, this week.  I very rarely get sick, perhaps because the Lord knows I’m a tad bit of a whiner, (just a little bit).  I hate to be sick; I like to do and move and go, but when the head becomes too heavy for the neck and life seems to be lived at a distance and it feels like I’m moving through sludge, then all I want to do is feel sorry for me. And so, that’s where I’ve been this week.

Even the girls have prayed to the Lord to make me feel better, because they just can’t, anymore.  My mom once told me, when I got pregnant, she prayed to the Lord daily for for His guidance, because she knows me.  Did I already say, I hate being sick? It could be that’s why the Lord keeps me pretty healthy; even He probably shakes His head. Thankfully, I feel much better today and prayerfully, that’s how it will stay (for everyone’s sake).  Do I feel bad that everyone is in this with me? Not particularly.  I know there are people suffering daily; I know there are those constantly in pain, I honestly don’t know how you do it.  I let everyone know when I’m not well; my mom (several miles away), my family, (well they already know) and of course, the Lord, constantly.   How do you do it?

To all, who do not feel well today, here is something I know will help us feel better; because of course, we do know; God is still God; God is always good; God still loves.

Are you a chirpy person when you’re sick? Do you moan and groan like someone I know? How do you respond when you are under the weather?

Success! You're on the list.

  1. I recently (after retiring) went back to work on a part time basis….at Walmart. But it’s hard on my body and I am in more pain now than I ever was. I will probably quit for good soon….but I try not to whine because one of my coworkers made me feel ashamed. No she didn’t say anything, it’s just her and what she has been through. She had breast cancer, lost both breasts, beat it, went on a LOA for over a year and is now back at work……in spite of the fact that she now has cancer throughout her body. She is on medications to keep the cancer in stasis, she has aged at least 20 years, but she keeps coming to work and is always pleasant. Whine? Yes, I do, but with the knowledge that I have little to really whine about. Love your photos….thanks for sharing.

Hoping you begin to feel better very soon!!🙏I can’t stand being sick and every time I do end up sick I whine around saying “I don’t have time for this!!!”

  3. Oh, I love your springtime pictures! There’s something about the baby leaves decorating the trees that makes them prettier in the spring than in the summer. And the water! And the sky! Yes, I spied the chipmunk and the bird. Ah, nature! So good for the soul.
I hope your soul is the better for having gone outside – your post reveals joy in our Lord.
Praying you’re back to your healthy self soon.

  4. Glad you’re starting to feel better. Being outside can help change your disposition. There’s something about being surrounded by God’s creation. I don’t think I’m to whiny when I’m sick, but like you, I don’t get sick often. Of course, you’d have to ask my husband for a truthful answer, I’m probably blind to my own complaining.

  5. I do moan some when I am sick, but my husband is pretty intuitive about my needs and tries to meet them quickly. I am blessed! I hope that you are feeling a lot better by the time you get this message. Stay safe!
