THE STORY OF THE SCARY TREES

Hey friends, how are you today? Today is the official start of spring 2026.  Thank You, Lord.   We had a very cold and a very snowy winter season.  I admit, I’m ready for consistent warmer weather.  The key word is ‘consistent’. The memory of spring is just a whisper to our trees.  They’re waking up.  The roots sent the signal to the stem.   The signal meandered its way to the branches.  The branches are a bit lost.  They don’t know yet that spring says time for the budding of leaves.  Maybe in a few weeks the branches will tell the story of the tree.  Instead of the starkness, life will return.

The trees in my neck of the woods fascinate me.  The gradual reawakening is a beautiful process.  It’s a wonderful reminder of the work salvation performs in us.  Salvation brings us to life in Jesus Christ.  That’s the starting line.  Now the change begins.

New life in Jesus demands a change from the person I was before Him.  The Holy Spirit is present in me. By consistently obeying the Word of God, the world will eventually see the change in me.   Just like the trees coming back to life is obvious.  The change in us will become obvious to others.  That may not understand it.  But they will see it.

Our new worldview changes the way we think.  Our new way of thinking changes the way we respond to our environment.  Our actions tell the story of our salvation.

I love the scary trees, with their hands and their fingers pointing to the sky.  They tell us that there are days when life may be stagnant for a while.  But there’s still life.  They say look up.  See the beauty.

What story do scary trees tell you? Do your actions tell the story of your God?
