A LITTLE BIRDIE TOLD ME

Hey friends, how are you? Guess what I saw today? There I was … sitting at the window, when I saw it.  At the time, the Lord was listening. I told Him how thankful I was for the wisps of sunshine through the clouds.   It was a beautiful morning.

The Lord sent me glimpses of blue skies under the clouds.   Today promises to bring with it more snow.   But before the snow, came a wonderful promise.  That’s when I saw her.

She came with the surety that spring is coming.  Winter will give up her hold on this city.   The flowers will bloom.  The trees will bear their leaves.  Because God keeps His promises.   You want to know what I saw this morning?

Perhaps some of you have already guessed.   I saw Ms. Woody Woodpecker.  I did! I did!  She was right outside my window.  On one of the winter frozen trees.  Huh! Are the trees really frozen? Perhaps just hibernating? Anyway, I digress…

But before spring is today.  And today matters.  The Lord wants to remind me today of His promises. He sent a woodpecker.  She was a tiny thing.  Only visible because of the lack of leaves.

Woody Woodpecker reminded me that the Lord will never leave me.  His presence surrounds me.  His love enfolds me.  His provisions are complete lacking nothing.   His joy is wrapped around me.  His kindness covers me.   He presence assures my safety.  Yes… the sight of the woodpecker was a balm to soul.  Oh, how He loves you and me.

Happy  Valentine’s Day, friends.  You are wonderfully loved.

  1. Creation speaks clearly of God’s love, faithfulness, wisdom, and power. When we see Robins down here in So. IL we hear Spring’s whisper. We’ve had several in our backyard on a couple of occasions.

  2. 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6
