LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Hey friends, how are you today? Really, I want to know, how are you today? Today matters, doesn’t it? Last week, we basked in temperatures nearing 60°, with plenty of sunshine, it felt like spring.  Today, there is snow on the ground, with more snow in the forecast, the clouds have completely blanketed the skies and presently our temperature is a mere 29°.

Winter has come to remind us that this is the winter season after all.  Though our days may differ, our God remains the same.  He sits on His throne in the good and the bad as the God of the universe.  We are loved in spite of, despite the whatever, by the All-Powerful God.

After the 911 incident, many people talked of how they were saved. Most shared of the phone call or the car troubles, or a sudden illness that kept them from being at the buildings during the attack.  With them, we give thanks for their salvation.

Were those who died loved any less?  Is the Lord withholding His love from us when we go through trials? Is this a sign that He has abandoned His people? Perhaps His love is only evident during the 60° days in winter?

Although we know differently it is sometimes difficult to remember we are loved, unconditionally, unwaveringly, unfailingly by the Mighty God of the Universe.  Through our eyes, it’s impossible to hold on to the knowledge that He has not left us.  We are not alone.

We don’t have to see around the corner, we don’t have to know the end of this chapter in our lives, but we can rest assured that where we are, there He is also.  Through the thick and the thin, through the good and the bad, through the beautiful and the not so beautiful, He is faithfully, graciously, mercifully always present with us.  His perfect love for us will not let Him leave us alone.

As we walk along the road of life, difficulties are inevitable, and the presence of the Lord of the harvest every step of the way is also inevitable.

How are you today?

  1. Doing well. Today we’re having a few thunderstorms but the weather is still warm for this time of year. Like you said, no matter the rain or sun, or even the storms and calm- our Lord is by our side. How blessed we are.

  2. We are WELL here, reveling in: 1) the peace and joy we can experience because of Jesus in our lives, 2) family members close by that we delight to make memories with, 3) a new, loving church family we’re getting to know, and 4) new-fallen snow, just now beginning to collect on the trees and bushes! GOD IS GOOD!

  3. I am living in the presence of God, thank you for asking. ☺ Our temps are fighting to break into the upper teens, and we have partly sunny skies.

How grateful I am to have a cozy home, people who love me, and a God Who opens my blind eyes to His Presence.
