BLOG PARTY

Hey friends, how are you doing? Happy thanksgiving to you and yours, even though it was perhaps impossible to celebrate with โ€˜yoursโ€™ this year.  We have learnt that โ€˜in all thingsโ€™ and โ€˜for all thingsโ€™ we give thanks.  For example, today in my neck of the woods, it is a damp, drab, dull, dismal, dreary, drizzly day, but it is 46ยฐ which is still warm enough to have a run outside.  We can choose to focus on the desperate, discouraging, despairing, desolate happenings in our lives and sink beneath its waves in distress or we can rise up and seek the beauty in those very circumstances.  We start by being thankful first for the freedom found in salvation, for the gift of life, for new mercies and grace sufficient for today.  We can admire the beauty found in creation; the trees, the mountains, the birds, all succinctly placed to remind us that we are loved, by the God who created it all.  We can revel in the joy of the family and friends in our lives.  They may not be close by, but they are there; we can call, FaceTime, email, telegraph, or zoom, perhaps not as good as their physical presence, but still possible to be in their presence.   Letโ€™s choose to count our blessings, name them one by one; it could always be worse.  How was your thanksgiving day spent?

Today, Iโ€™m also thankful for you.  Youโ€™ve made it possible for this space to remain normal in an abnormal world.  Youโ€™ve encouraged and spurred me on to keep my eyes on the Lord.  Youโ€™ve inspired my creativity and motivated me to โ€˜becomeโ€™ more and develop a better version of me.  I thank you for your โ€˜presenceโ€™ in my life.  I thank the Lord for you.  May the Lord bless you abundantly.

Guess what time it is? Guess what!?

Itโ€™s PARTY TIME!!

Everyone is invited; you do not have to share my faith to participate.

LETโ€™S GET THE PARTY STARTED!!

Here are some simple rules:

First off, everyone is welcome to participate in this Blog Party (even if you do not currently follow me, although I would LOVE it if you do!)

If you are a new follower of my blog, say hi and let me know so that I can remember to drop by your blog and check you out.

Leave a Comment! Say hi and tell us who you are and what your blog is about. Feel free to leave a link connecting back to your blogโ€™s home page or to your favorite or most recent blog post! (Post this only once please.)

Mix and Mingle! This is where the party begins. I am blessed to have almost 5,000 followers and this is a great opportunity for many of my friends to meet each other. You guys are amazing, and I think a lot of you would enjoy meeting and following one another.

Because we are still in November, be sure to say for what you are thankful, along with your other comments!

ONE MORE THING…  Well 2 more, but it won’t take long, I promise)

Remember, you never have to follow anyone just because they follow you. However, it is good manners to always return a page visit for a page visit. Did someone stop by your blog, like or leave a comment? Do the same for them! It only takes a minute.

Processingโ€ฆ
Success! You're on the list.

  1. What a fabulous idea! I love the idea of making connections and coming together in our efforts to point others to the Lord. This is encouraging in so many ways. Brenda, thanks for this opportunity. May God continue to grow your outreach. You are inspiring.

My writing and outreach was birthed from half a decade of a deep, dark valley I thought I would not survive. God changed the direction of my life and has me doing things I would have never dreamed! Come read more or contact me…

  2. Hi. I am thankful for so much, I don’t know where to begin. This morning in my prayer I was aware of how much I am grateful for how my life is at the moment. I really LOVE my life. And I’m so grateful for that. I have all that I need and so much freedom, health and beloved family and friends. One luxury I have and am also delightfully grateful for is an electric under-blanket this year. Such a bliss!
My blogs are poems and thoughts and some audio scripture videos I made… and my entire book published as a weekly series. I write in order to think and to express my thoughts. I love Jesus.

  7. Wow what a great idea! I canโ€™t wait to check out some of these blogs. My name is Danielle, although I blog under the name Eirene. The reason why I use a different name is because when I started blogging I felt so exposed and vulnerable sharing the things I write, so I decided to be anonymous. I chose the name Eirene (pronounced I-ray-nay) because itโ€™s the Greek word for โ€œpeaceโ€. My blog is https://heismydelight.wordpress.com and I write mostly about things I discover in the Bible that encourage or instruct me. I also started a YouTube channel this month where I post totally different Bible content from my blog. Itโ€™s called Power Snacks https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZBh-y7MTVn0bdde7kElNfw.
    Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!!

  10. Thank you for doing this again Brenda. I thought about you today and hope you stayed home not shopping lol.

My blog is jesusluvsall.wordpress.com where I share my faith, experiences with other cultures, and living with chronic illness. I canceled my Netflix due to the movie Cuties exploiting pre-teen girls. Each month I donate the money to Hero Bands for a child rescued from sex trafficking to receive a band. https://jesusluvsall.wordpress.com/2020/11/20/we-need-to-protect-children-how-jesus-feels/

  11. Hi – I’m Reagan! Thanks for inviting me to the party!

I’m a senior college student studying a scientific field. I am also a Christian. As such, there is often conflict, as the Bible is not accepted at my school. Regardless, I love science and the Bible, and want to prove to everyone else that science actually proves the Bible. I am currently in the process of using science to prove that the world was created and didn’t evolve (here’s a link to the first article in the series: https://backtostablehill.com/2020/11/06/can-nothing-explode/).

I love reading your blog, but your name is really what drew me to it. I hope you had a happy and blessed Thanksgiving surrounded by loved ones!

  13. Hello, Brenda! I enjoy your blog. My favorite thing is how you always ask your readers how they are doing. Some days you are the first (and only) person to ask me that!

I am a former worship pastor turned elementary school music teacher who shares positive thoughts from a Christian perspective. My blog fits into the life story niche, as I enjoy taking events from my life (and the lives of others) and making applications from the Bible. Here is one of my latest posts. http://davidsdailydose.org/2020/11/23/sparkle/ It actually got reblogged today–my first one ever!

Thank you for hosting a blog party. What a great, and gracious idea! Blessings.

  14. Hi! I’m a college senior seeking to connect all the fandoms to Bible verses in a way that will reach my fellow fan-people. Here’s my most recent post: https://thefangirlfulfilled.org/songbirds-snakes-pure-as-driven-snow/
I’m thankful that I still live close enough to home that I can stay with my family for breaks, and that my school didn’t change too many things on us this semester. Happy Thanksgiving!! And thank you for hosting this!! โ˜บ๏ธ

  15. I enjoyed reading your blog today. I admit, I am not the best at responding to blog posts even though I love it when people respond to mine. Life it seems is a little crazy busy at times. Hope you have a blessed day!
