EMBRACE TODAY

Hey friends, how are you today? Just today; in fact, how are you doing, right this minute? Sometimes, I wonder about these questions, don’t you? Do I want to know how you feel at this very moment? Or do I want to know about your circumstances? Well, in this case, I want to know the answers to both these questions.  How are you doing? How was your week?

I’m not sure what to say about mine… it was not exactly busy, but neither was it slow.  To some extent, I have battling against time.  I’m trying to balance the insurmountable projects, I’ve undertaken, without being aware of it.  Yes here and yes, a few months later and yes again a few months after that and here we are; one hundred and one tasks, to which I’ve said β€˜yes’.  I think I’ve already said, (here) that when I am overwhelmed, I have the tendency to do nothing, which is bad; really, really bad.  Instead of reading that book, writing that post, making that call, folding that laundry, washing that hair, I decided I’d rather go for walk.  Just a brief, but intentional stroll with my camera; brief, I said, because (you know) it’s still winter, around here, just without the winter temperatures.

But still, we thank God for the fact, that we live in this time, where indoor heating in a β€˜thing’.Β Β Β Β Here are a few photos, I picked up along the way.Β Β

  1. Pretty pics…and nothing is wrong with a good walk!! I actually feel like I accomplish a lot during a good walk..it’s refreshing and then I return home to the chores or errands refreshed and ready to tackle at least some of them!!

  2. To answer your questions Brenda;
We are enjoying rain here on the east coast of Australia!! God has answered prayer & we’re dancing in it! It has extinguished the majority of fires πŸ˜€ though not all! So we continue to pray…

I’m feeling extremely grateful spiritually (for the rain) & can feel every bit of my painful anatomy at the moment as with stormy weather comes a heightened time of physical pain with Fibromyalgia! [There maybe a post brewing in that lesson! πŸ˜‰ ]
    Bless you,
    Jennifer

  3. So glad I don’t live where the temperatures get down to single digits! Spent Thanksgiving with my daughter in Colorado and got to experience temperatures below what is normal in my part of the world and I found out I don’t like it! I don’t like winter weather but I know we need it. I do like the rain on a quiet day, and a little snow here and there(pictures of snow are nice too…from a warm, cozy room); but I get depressed when the days continue dark and dreary and when I look into my yard and see the mess it’s in. So I went back to work for a couple of days a week! Retirement is great, but still need to get out of the house once in awhile…especially when there is no sunlight to perk me up!

  4. Love the pics! I don’t get much snow in my neck of the woods. (Oregon coast). I’m praising our gracious Father today that my back doesn’t hurt…been a rough couple of weeks on that score, but He is good, all the time! 😊

  5. Beautiful indeed sis! Love how the snow spreads it white carpet of beauty on the loan! ❀ How I feel now? I feel joyful for God has answered our prayers concerning the fire in Australia. He sent the rain and it has outed it in that part of the country! Thank you Jesus! ❀ Truly He is the same God, today, yesterday and forever! πŸ˜€ my week was very blessed! Enjoying the cool and cold weather from the rainfalls on the isles. Blessings!

  6. I had a really busy week with an appointment or errand every day. That meant I couldn’t have PJ days and that was upsetting to me because I really look forward to my pajama days since I am retired. I have another appointment today and one on Monday and then I’m done with medical appointments for at least a week. I’ve decided that one of the reasons you retire when you are older is so that you have time for all of your medical appointments. 😝

  7. We are getting whacked again with another winter storm and blizzard. This one is supposed to bless us with only 5-8″, not the 14″ that is still with us from before.
Our temps have been hanging around below zero. -11 in the mornings.
I did try to go for a walk the other day. It was 1 degree, so I bundled up. But the wind was blowing (later, the news said the wind chill was -16), so instead of walking around the big field, I ducked into a residential area, hoping the houses would block some of the biting wind. I cut my walk from a half hour to 15 minutes.
We are mostly staying in for the storm today. Pancakes and sausage for our noon dinner. Teas and warm drinks on hand all day. I do get to walk a couple of blocks to get my mammogram this afternoon.

  8. Hi Brenda: Am in Land O Lakes, Florida. We are doing about as well as can be expected. How are you? The weather here on the outside is fabulous. The sun is shining, the skies are blue and the temperature is 72 degrees. Like you I am juggling so many things right now I have to remain focused and not take my eyes off the prize. This is the day the Lord has made we shall rejoice and be glad therein. Have a blessed weekend. And if you ever want to get out of that cold just feel free to drop in.

    • πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’m packing my bags right now πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ This is our first day without snow and the high temperature today is 19ΒΊ. This is one of my favorite verses, because it reminds me that God is always on the throne. Thank you for the encouragement

  9. Hi Brenda! You asked, so… I’m well, thankful to be indoors with wood heat (electric back-up) after feeding the cattle with my hubby. It’s 17 degrees and blowing snow like a banshee in NW Iowa this morning! I say don’t “guilt” over walking…it’s good for you, except in blizzard conditions ;D
