IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU

Hey friends, how are you? How was your week? It has snowed almost everyday this week, hey,.. but who’s complaining? Well, maybe I’ve ‘spoken’ to the Lord about this a few times, welllll…maybe more than a few times, but today, I’ve decided to take a deep breath and enjoy the scenery.  I may even put on my snow boots and go outside, just to walk in the snow! Maybe today, I will realize that I’ve β€˜spoken’ enough about the snow and today, choose to enjoy it.  Just maybe, I will do something different…

Can you believe we are halfway through November?  Wow! We might as well begin preparations for Christmas and the New Year!   Have you already decorated for Christmas? Usually the girls and I do this, but I am thinking to taking on the task a tad bit earlier, like this weekend! Although I’m not sure I can do everything in one weekend, unfortunately, I won’t be home on Saturday.  Time just simply flies by so quickly.

If you knew your last day on earth would be December 31stΒ what will you choose to do differently?Β Β Β Will you choose to make the next six weeks count?Β Β If you knew you will be required to give an account for the choices you will make in January 1, 2020, how would you choose to start today?Β Β If there is even a 1% chance that the Bible is true, that there is a heaven and a hell: that both the righteous and the unrighteous will be judged by a Holy, Perfect God, would you be willing to make some changes in your life?Β Β Β Don’t wait; the future brings with it too many insecurities and uncertainties.Β Β

Today is a new day.  Today is a good day for do-overs.  What a blessing it is  that we serve a forgiving, gracious and merciful God.  He gives us new days to begin again. We ask for forgiveness, we ask to be restored, renewed, re-energized, and re-vitalized.

Why is my heart so prone to wonder, Lord? Why am I so insistent on pursuing things that are temporary?  Why do I find it so hard to trust you with the people and things that matter to me?  I know You are better at protecting and  providing. Sometimes, I find myself giving them first place in my life.  Why do I struggle to totally commit to You?   Could it be I am attempting to be holy without You?

People need the Lord. What will you choose to do differently today?

  1. Nice article! It seems I always have something I need to fix about myself, another one of those “besetting sins” Each time I make progress on one, I realize another. I’ts like Paul wrote about: the very thing I know I need to “not do” I find myself doing.

  2. Living each day with a clean slate. And it doesn’t depend on how I view it: I ask the Lord daily to bring to mind what I need to confess. He’s better at seeing me than I am. 😊 I give it to God, and He gives me blessings.

  4. Amen Brenda! Powerful truth and a powerful prayer! Today is the day of salvation for sure! You must have received some of our snow. It snowed a few times in October here, but then it was back to 60s and 70s. It is supposed to be 66 here today and in the 60s all weekend into next week. I’ll definitely take that over the single digits we had in October. πŸ™‚ That’s funny about Christmas decorations. Our kids have been asking me to put up lights on the house and they already want to get the tree. Might have to do something this weekend. πŸ™‚ Have a blessed weekend!
