BE ENCOURAGED, FRIENDS

Good day friends, how are you today? How was your week? September is here friends, Christmas is right around the corner, are you ready for this glorious event?  Although, I love, love the changes that comes with each new season; I’m quite happy that fall hasn’t quite reached our neck of the woods.  The leaves are still vibrantly green, the sun is shining, the butterflies are still flittering from bush to bush and the cicadas can still be heard. 

Yes, summer will linger just a little while longer and I thank the Lord for every minute of it.  The average temperature is about 75°, praise the Lord. I do look forward to fall, but unfortunately winter has this sneaky way of infringing on fall’s season, thereby taking much more time that she should and outstaying her welcome.  I will endeavor to live in this moment and take it one day at a time.  

Time is precious isn’t it? Perhaps, time is even more precious because of the recent catastrophes in the world. With everything that’s happening today; from the shootings to the devastations caused by natural disasters, it may be difficult to trust the God of the Universe is still in control.  It’s easy to ask, ‘where is God in all of this?’  

The answer is truly easy to say but very difficult at times to believe.  The Lord is in control; not only is He in control and aware of the groaning of the earth, He does, and He allows.  He is actively involved in His creation; from the busy ants to the even busier humans.  It may seem terrible today, but can you imagine a world without the engagement of the Holy and Loving God? I guess perhaps the question isn’t ‘where is God?’  but rather ‘do I believe in the goodness, grace and mercy of God?’

Maybe I believe somehow, I am more loving, more merciful and more gracious than God, after all, I would never allow so many lives to be so senselessly lost. Taking a look at my actions will reveal what I truly believe.  

Be encouraged friends, the God of the Universe did not abdicate His throne. Whatever difficulty this life may send our way, or even perhaps our actions may have brought it our way; however big or small, we will trust Him with it. He knows us, He loves us, each day comes with tailor made grace and mercy, just for you.  

Trust His heart, when life’s circumstances seem dire.  He always keeps His promises and He promised to forever be there, even through the mountains in our lives.   How are you today? What are your plans for fall?

  1. Thank you for this beautiful article. Your outfit was pretty and those shoes are fierce. I am trying to savor these final days of summer. I love my flip-flops, the longer days and more. I saw the word Christmas and was reminded that this year is coming to a close in less than 120 days. This fall I plan to stay on my 2019 goals while taking a moment to enjoy the moments of fall including pumpkin spice everything and the holidays. Thank you for sharing your encouragement. I am thankful.

  5. Amen & Amen! God’s actions or what we see as inaction are beyond our finite minds. It comes down to trust doesn’t it! Great post Brenda!
    Reading the above comments demonstrates each person has received a different truth in your highlighting scripture…I love how the Holy Spirit does that! 😀

  7. God is always in control. When bad things happen many ask that question…where is God? But like you mentioned, His goodness, grace, and mercy are all around us. He never promised us a world free of troubles. Thank you Brenda. ❤️

  10. Dear Brenda, Thanks for being so personable. Oh, how I envy your 75-ish temps. Our daytime temps here in south Mississippi are still topping 90 and sometimes approaching 100. While winter encroaches on your fall, summer encroaches all year long down here. LOL. Thank you too, for the reminder that God is in control, even when I mess up.

  12. Jesus did not promise us a life with no problems. He promised to always be with us. This world is a fallen world. We are aliens/strangers living in this world with one ultimate purpose- to share Jesus with the world.

    • Amen 🙏🏽 this world with its problems isn’t our home, praise the Lord 😊 everyone experiences pain atone time or another. Everyone, rich, poor, Christian, non Christian, but we are blessed because we have the eternal presence of the Lord

  14. Hello Brenda, this comment really spoke to me and it is so true: “The Lord is in control; not only is He in control and aware of the groaning of the earth, He does, and He allows.” This statement reminds me of the book of Job, and how God is Sovereign and in control of everything.
    Testing is difficult, but God’s aim is that we have a deeper relationship with Him whether, we are currently saved or that the situation He brings us to IS the way that ultimately saves us and redeems us to Him..
    We were created to have a relationship with Him and many times He has to bring us to our knees and break our heart to have the breakthrough needed in us to let Him have His rightful place on our heart and life. Great message! Enjoy your weekend.

  15. Ech, this: “Maybe I believe somehow, I am more loving, more merciful and more gracious than God.”
    What a scary thought! But sometimes we really BELIEVE that. Thank God for His mercy on our souls, and may He ever draw us into His wisdom.
