ANOTHER THRIFT HAUL AND TRUE BEAUTY

Hello friends, how are you?  How was your week? What did you do this week? I had a wonderful week.  I think I’ve finally found my rhythm, since the girls came back from college.  For a minute there, I felt like my life was in chaos. I had to readjust to having two extra people in the house and I must admit this process took a bit longer than I thought.  And then to add to the chaos, they took on the challenge to babysit the most adorable, bold, cute, daring baby girl.  Oh my, did I say she is adorable and cute? Bold and daring too? I was so very tempted to ask the stork to bring me a baby, but my husband gave me the look; you know… the one that says, ‘don’t even think about it’!   But after months of enjoying the quiet and harmonious existence of there being just the two of us, to now four and a half; well actually, let’s just make it six! That baby is definitely her very own person and someone else’s personality too.  But how can anyone resist that sweet face! But anyway, I digress.

This week I’ve finally found my rhythm.  I simply can’t function when my home isn’t in order. There is a place for everything, and everything must be in its place at the end of the day; yep I’m that person and I approve this message.  My meats are packaged and seasoned.  My pantry is organized, the fridge is clean, and laundry is up to date.  I’ve also been able to run almost everyday this week; yep, I’m on a roll. I even had time to go thrift shopping.

Just a few accessories

Okay, okay I always make time for thrift shopping, but you know what I mean. I actually made a place for these items; hopefully my sweet husband does not read this post, because he probably would not agree. But I know all the ladies know exactly what I’m talking about, except for those of you who hate shopping and the questions are: ‘who are you and what are you doing with your life?

These were perfect for my closet $2.99 each
this Loft hat 1. fits all my hair and it was new with tags and it was $3.99 (WHAT!)
another pair of flats that Cleo has already worn; it was $2.99
yes and yes!! the color, the bow and it has a platform and $2.99 (what!)
If you read this post, you would know that straw bags are an obsession

I love this verse! It’s impossible to find true beauty outside of a vibrant, rich and passionate relationship with the God of the Universe.

He created beauty; did you know that? As we take a look around us, at the trees, and the flowers, at the animals and especially at you and me, how can we say not?

We are all created beautifully by the Great and Loving God of the Universe.  We need no accessory to agree, but true beauty goes beyond the outward appearance; beyond just the skin. True beauty needs all the help it can get, and it is attained when we surrender our will and submit to the Lord’s authority.  He alone can cultivate and nurture true beauty in us.  How was your week?

Let’s keep the conversation going over on Instagram. I’d love to ‘meet’ you. Follow my Instagram Page

  1. Yes, it’s best to tuck those “finds” away so hubby sees them gradually…as you wear them! I like the purse, verse and white fur background too. You are too cute with that umbrella 🙂

  2. You’re such a great thrift shopper Brenda! I did some this week for my granddaughter who is going on a mission overseas & needs baggy summer pants to wear called Happy Pants!
I found 4 pairs for her & she loves them! 😀
    Bless you,

  3. YAY for thrift hauls! My favorite store opened and I actually got to go on the day it opened 🙂 I got some really great stuff, but my favorite find was a pair of boots. Now I’m not really a boot girl, but I’ve been trying to expand my wardrobe style at least a little, lol. For me, a little is a LOT (I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of person). Anyways, I found a great pair of boots for $7.50. More than I like to spend at a thrift store, but considering how much a pair of boots like this is on even a thrifting website? I considered it a great bargain! Have a great week and hurray to balance! God Bless!

What great thrift hauls! You are one good deal-grabber.
I do agree with you: a woman who loves her Lord will radiate His truth, peace, and beauty.

  6. Super love the Loft hat. Is there a company name or anything on the back of the dress pictures? They would go P E R F E C T L Y on either side of a picture I have in my living room. I wish I could post a pic…
