WHAT ABOUT TODAY?

Hey friends, how are you doing? How was your week? What did you do this week? What was your weather like in your neck of the woods? We have had beautiful spring days this week. Jazz (our cat) and I are once again fighting for space near the kitchen window.  She insists on laying down, right across the window sill.  I’m teaching her to share the space, but it’s a work in progress.  Anna (the baby in the family) says cats think they control the humans and I’m now convinced Jazz is of that opinion.  It’s my job to help a cat out.

Do you think the Lord is busy? He should be, right? He has millions of His peculiar people walking this earth and we all need help.  We clamor for His attention, sometimes several times a day.  We need more grace, we need more mercy, we need forgiveness. We are down, we need Him to be the ‘Lifter of our head‘.  We need protection and safety, we need guidance.  And that’s just the humans.  Then the earth needs His attention, the sun and moon need to know when it’s safe to come out of hiding.  The birds need to be fed and the list goes on and on and on.  Even the Psalmist says, ‘He never sleeps nor slumbers‘. He really should be very busy; but He isn’t.  Of course, He isn’t busy, He is God!

Do we need to be reminded of that, today? If God isn’t busy and He is in control of everything, then why am I? What control do I have over anything? Even the control over my own body is limited.  Our Lord left us a great example of making time for ‘the good part”.  The ‘good part’ begins with putting our Lord first.  Everything else will fall into place.

Today is a special day (I did tell you May is an extra special month). Today is our first born’s birthday.  Today, our precious Cleo is 21 years old.  We had our usual birthday talk this morning. I’ll sum up what I said to her, “mother knows best”.  Gotcha! Well. I did say that, but I also said, ‘love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your might”.  Everything else always falls into place.

Cleopatra – our first born

While walking our neighborhood yesterday, I thought I’d share with you a few beauties we came across on our way.   Deep breathes… have a fabulous day. What are your plans for the weekend? Wish Cleo a great day with me.

There was no going without them 🙂

  2. My day here in Mobile, Alabama was absolutely fantastic. I was able to go outside and enjoy the weather that the Lord blessed us with on the Gulf Coast.

I like the thought that the title of your blog brings about. Just think, that our lives are a masterpiece being shown to the world by the creator of all things. My prayer is this; Dear Lord, help me to be the picture of Grace that others can see your love for them. Help me not to discolor what you are making out of my life. Amen
