Hey friends, SURPRISE! I know itโs not normal for me to write a post on a Sunday, but here I am. How are you today? Are you or did you go to church today? Today at our church, we celebrate the children. Today the kids are in charge of the service, I am looking forward to it actually. We do have an adult preacher though. Our temperature has also dropped tremendously, which is unfortunate, I was looking forward to wearing my strappy heels to church; oh well itโs closed toe shoes for me today. Do you dress up for church? I most certainly do; I love dressing up for church. In fact, I enjoy dressing up for everything, including just going to the mall.

One of my favorite verses that I find myself going back to over and over again is Proverb 31:30, as a matter of fact, it is the verse that defines this blog. This verse is written on the tablet of my heart. I told you I love dressing up, I enjoy makeup. I do take pride in my outward appearance. Most days I use a face mask and I use serums and potions to help me age as gracefully as possible. On weekends I usually go all out, I even paint my nails. Yep, I am a girly girl and I thank the Lord for that.

But remember in this post, we spoke about choosing the โgood partโ.ย ย The โgood partโ, isnโt that a thing of beauty? The โgood partโ; though I may appear beautiful on the outside, my life isnโt complete without the Lord.ย ย I will constantly be searching for things, such as clothes and shoes and makeup and sometimes even people to complete me.ย God is gracious; He allows that inner beauty to be evident to those watching, so that I appear beautiful to them, especially when I live in submission to His Word.

Once upon a time, long, long ago, I tried to fill this missing part with books too; I loved escaping to faraway places, delving into the lives of people with wonderful journeys, wishing I was them.ย ย But GODโฆ (isnโt that the most glorious two words, ever to be heard?) I do still enjoy reading, but now I read with a different purpose. My Lord, in His mercy, saved me and now my life has meaning, now I have purpose.ย ย Now I understand the โfear of the Lordโ is the beginning of true wisdom; I understand that the Lord, in His goodness, wishes to bless those who fear Him. Now I make it my lifeโs mission to do just that.ย

With Easter just around the corner, I am reminded of the price that was paid to cover my debt. This Perfect Sacrifice endured a suffering so severe and so humiliating that our minds canโt begin to comprehend the depth of this offering. In honor of this, weโve been watching this series called โJesusโ His Life, I was asked to review. It plays on the History Channel with the final episode, airing this Monday, April 15. I must admit, I enjoyed this series, I loved the narratives of the various commentators. The series looks at the life of Jesus Christ through the eyes of various people in His life. My favorite of the series is the first; the proclamation of His Birth, as told by Joseph. Although I do not support the teachings of some of the commentators, they stayed true to the Word of God. The series includes the suppositions which may have gone through the minds of people like Magi and John the Baptist. It gives a very good timeline of the various events throughout Jesusโ life. I was better able to understand the Roman Empire and their ways. I highly recommend. If you are able, check it outโฆ according to their website, it is:

โJesus: His Lifeโ explores the story of Jesus Christ through a unique lens: the people in his life who were closest to him. Each of the eight chapters is told from the perspective of different biblical figures, all of whom played a pivotal role in Jesusโ life including Joseph, John the Baptist, Mary Mother of Jesus, Caiaphas, Judas Iscariot, Pontius Pilate, Mary Magdalene and Peter.
Each figure takes a turn guiding viewers through the emotional and epic story of the most famous man in history, through his birth, death and resurrection, all conveyed through a combination of scripted drama and interviews with prominent religious and historical experts. Utilizing some of the worldโs most respected Biblical scholars, historians, faith leaders and theologians, the series weaves together the canonical Gospels, historical sources and cultural context to create a complete portrait of Jesus โ the man and the Messiah. The series finale airs this Monday, April 15 on The History Channel at 8pm ET/PT.
Have a great Sunday and let me know whether you are familiar with this series.

The children of our church family also led the beginning of our morning worship; with palm branches, shouts of “hosanna” and singing! Praise God, our King and Savior has come!
I have not seen the series on Jesus’ life but thanks for the review, Brenda ๐

Usually I go to church, but today I didn’t. I called off work too–health issues–arthritis and other things. I spent the day resting. I certainly don’t want to make skipping church a habit; we’ve had especially good services lately, with the Presence of the Lord very evident, but this morning, after working 3-10 yesterday, I just couldn’t do it.

I understand, my friend and so does the Lord. Worship doesn’t begin and end in a church/building it takes place in our lives. May the Lord bring relief and healing to you
