WELCOME TO MY WORLD

Hey friends, how are you today? Did you do anything extra special on Valentine’s Day? We pretty much stayed home.  Last year, we went out for dinner on Valentine’s Day, it’s not an experience we chose to repeat this year.  We waited at least an hour for a table and then had to wait just as long for our food; uhhh no (we’re too old for that). But truthfully, I love Valentine’s Day.  I know some will say it is over commercialized, which is more than likely true, but which holiday/celebration isn’t? Personally, I don’t think that anyone should stop enjoying or celebrating an occasion because WE choose to commercialize it.  We do have choices, don’t we? We are allowed to decide HOW to celebrate the day; that’s our choice, rather than to throw away the baby with the bathwater.  Anyhoo… how are you really doing today? Did you do anything for Valentine’s Day? What did you do? If you didn’t, why didn’t you?John 10 10Today’s temperature is going to be a whopping 44°, for which I say, ‘thank You, Lord’, because every single day after that, we are in the 20°.  This year, my theme verse (I should really say, ONE of my theme verses, since I have several) is John 10:10.  My key phrase from this verse is ‘LIVE LIFE ABUNDANTLY’.  In 2019 I choose to live life abundantly, but in order to do this, I have to see the beauty of each day through God’s eyes.  I tried looking through my eyes, but I found there were days when I could not find any beauty at all, in my day.  Because I’ve been conditioned to observe the surface to find beauty, sometimes it’s a bit difficult to appreciate or even see that actual beauty lies beneath the surface of most things and people. Another of my favorite verses is this one: pro-31-30 See. this is where true beauty is born.  Well, I suppose since beauty is my goal, then that’s the path I have to take. On our way there, again let’s not throw away the baby with the bathwater.  Creation is observably beautiful, well I suppose that’s because our Lord created it.  Also, I’ve met a few stunningly, beautiful people both in the outside and inside. You, beautiful one, are reading my blog right now.  But today we shall observe beauty in the winter, which can be hard to see, when it’s dark and snowy and cold and blistery, and frigid, and did I already say ‘cold’?fullsizeoutput_c56IMG_5788IMG_5780IMG_5786fullsizeoutput_c53fullsizeoutput_c50fullsizeoutput_c4bfullsizeoutput_c55

What’s your weather like, in your neck of the woods? Hot? Cold? Mild? Which do you prefer? Hot? Cold? Mild?

  1. This is another timely read for me. I find that unless I hold things loosely I will be discontent with life. For me, the weather is creeping into the 80s and that makes me sad- unless I remember that today is a day the Lord has made.
My husband and I enjoyed a late take out dinner together. Valentine’s Day will always be special to us since that is the day we got engaged. 🙂

    • Congratulations; its the control issues that come with being a woman 🙂 we find it hard to let things go and let God have control, because we fear it will not be done as we see fir 🙂 🙂 I get it and praise the Lord we serve a patient and gracious God, Who leads us in the right direction over and over and over again

  2. It’s 3 degrees here in NW Iowa (even colder doing chores this morning!) but definitely see beauty in winter…colors of sunrise, cats in barn, frost on black cows, tracks in snow (like your photos). I love to celebrate Valentine’s Day as it’s also my birthday, which makes it “easy” for my husband 😉 We went out early this year to a new place and met an older cousin, whom we haven’t seen for a long time, for supper. It was fun visiting together! Excellent food and we didn’t have to wait that night (maybe weekend was busier).

  3. Not a fan of all the feels of winter but your photos are visually beautiful! I’m a Texas summer afternoon coffee drinker. I just need warmth. I can appreciate the beauty in your photos, though. Thank you for the reminder of the beauty He gives us, even in the detestable winter.♡

  5. It’s in the 60’s today in the Northern California Bay Area. We’ve had a mild winter this year. We rarely get any snow. Lately we’ve had a lot of rain, but the sunny days are so pleasant and warm with a slight chill in the air. We’re going to have an early spring this year. Some of our flowers, the daffodils, are already blooming. It’s really expensive living here, but the weather is so nice most of the time. God bless you. Enjoy reading your posts.

  6. I love your winterscape photos.
We had 29 the other day – warmest day of the month, they said. We’re back in the negatives now, and windy. Very grateful for the cozy home that God and my husband provide.

  7. It’s 24 today for us! YAY! 🙂 That is a massive improvement, lol. I prefer mild weather, 60-70, and I’m a very happy camper, lol. I like the sun, but I also enjoy the rain. I am working on my attitude regarding the weather as well…it is all too easy to complain (it’s too cold, too cloudy, too hot, etc. etc.) Praying for God to change my attitude towards the weather, and everything else in life I can’t control this year! God Bless and enjoy your warmer weather while it lasts 🙂

      • I am definitely ready for some warmer weather 🙂 It is snowing today and my poor husband looked out the window and was just like, I’m done with winter. Poor man. Thank you for the prayers, they are much appreciated! Praying for you as well, may summer come soon! God Bless! 🙂

  8. We passed dozens of restaurants with no parking places, then after thirty minutes we pulled into what looked like a full lot, but with one place in front of the door. We waited many times at this place, but tonight we walked in, ordered, and faster than Taco Bell on a Friday night, we were served. So, try it again.

Getting back home to the roses which the cat started chewing on, I sat down to get my writing time in.

    • Wow! The Lord was with you 😂😂 sounds like you had a great time I think we will definitely try again and perhaps also try new restaurants, we do tend to keep going to the same restaurants. May the Lord be with you
