WOW… JUST… WOW!

Hey friends, how are you doing today? What are your plans for the New Year? Do you even make plans for the New Year? I love most things โ€˜newโ€™; new days, new years, new (to me) clothes, shoes, cars; I even like to meet โ€˜newโ€™ people (sometimes). But strangely (or maybe not so strange) I donโ€™t usually enjoy unexpected changes, which normally ushers the โ€˜newโ€™. I have come to the realization that I like the โ€˜newโ€™ that I can control or the โ€˜newโ€™ that gives me warning signals before they arrive. Itโ€™s the unexpected โ€˜newโ€™ that I donโ€™t like. Do you like the unexpected changes? ecc-31
Of course usually, at a later date; sometime in the future, I do appreciate the new, but generally, my initial reactions to unexpected โ€˜newnessโ€™ are cautions hesitation, if itโ€™s good; or if itโ€™s bad (according to me) I desperately try to reverse the actions. You see, changes insist that I change, changes insist on my adaptation, changes always come with wellโ€ฆ changes. I really donโ€™t like change, but Iโ€™m trying to do better, especially in this โ€˜new yearโ€™; pray for me. Change is inevitable and when the Lord brings or allows the changes, itโ€™s always a thing of beauty. Change can be good, Brenda. Reallyโ€ฆ believe that and be ready for it. Every โ€˜new yearโ€™ seems to bring changes; we might as well be ready, right? IMG_5510
Itโ€™s the last Friday of 2018. When we โ€˜seeโ€™ each other again, it will actually be 2019. 2019! I have to keep reminding myself of this, because this year simply flew past me. Really โ€ฆ I donโ€™t know what happened, one minute it was January 2018 and next week, January 2019 will be here. Thankfully I kept a journal, or I would definitely believe I was asleep this entire year. Does it seem as if each year moves faster than the year before? If this theory holds true, then 2019 will certainly be a blur; if we donโ€™t keep a journal.thank you
But before 2018 can say goodbye, I would like to say, โ€˜thank youโ€™. Thank you. Sometimes โ€˜thank youโ€™ seem so small and insignificant, so minor and puny; but thatโ€™s all I can come up with at the moment. Thank you. You actually followed the blog; thank you. You read the posts, you commented, you liked; thank you. You pinned, you reblogged; you shared, thank you. You kept coming back over and over again; thank you. Your comments brought smiles to my face and flooded me with joy; thank you. Thank you, I am so very grateful for you and your encouragement. May the Lord truly be glorified in this place. Ultimately, all the praise and all the glory goes to my Supreme Lord and Master. He has brought so many rich blessings to my life. Thank You, Lord. closing1brenda

  1. All change, a new day, week or year, brings responsibility. How we mete out that responsibility is pretty much determined by how well we are tuned in to God. We can learn a lot by listening to His quiet voice of direction. Whatever happens in our life is no surprise to Him, so why should a child of God be intimidated by events that are “sprung” on us. These events are for our training and growth. Scripture tells us that, “All things (good or bad) work together for good, to them who love the Lord.”
Thanks for stopping by recently, and “Liking” one of my blogs.

  2. I’m with you; I like changes that I have sought or prayed for. Sudden surprises, even good ones, throw me for a loop while my mind tries to categorize them and figure out how things are going to work with this new variable thrown in.
Happy New Year! ๐Ÿ™Œ Glory to God!

  3. I don’t think anyone likes change lol. But I agree with your point about keeping a journal, it’s such a beautiful way to reflect on the year. Happy New Year!

  4. I’m with you on the change thing! Have a great weekend! I will be running a race that starts on Sunday morning, lasts 55 hours and ends on New Years Day at 7 am. We will go in circles on a park trail. Cold and rain expected. Prayers appreciated!

  5. I agree Brenda, I do not like unexpected change! It can be just plain nasty! I find with having depleted energy levels with chronic health issues, the unexpected can almost place me in cardiac arrest! Lol! Not really but it feels that way!

But of course we have the Lord who needs to change us to “complete His good work in us” & nothing is unexpected to Him ๐Ÿ˜‰ So though I don’t necessarily welcome change, I do trust Him!
    Enjoy your New Year celebrations,
    Jennifer

  7. “Of course usually, at a later date; sometime in the further, I do appreciate the new, but generally, my initial reactions to unexpected โ€˜newnessโ€™ are cautions hesitation.” That’s me, too. ๐Ÿ™‚ I had many changes in 2018, and most of them were wonderful so I am grateful to God for that. Have a Happy New Year, Brenda!

  8. Iโ€™m with you on the โ€œnewโ€ that I can control or I prefer when God gives me a โ€œheads upโ€ on whatโ€™s to come! Heโ€™s truly showing me that Proverbs 3:5,6 is a strong foundation to stand on as He ushers in the โ€œnewโ€. Thank you for sharing and God Bless โค๏ธ

  9. I have always dubbed myself a โ€˜rutโ€™ girl because Iโ€™m not a fan of โ€˜out of my controlโ€™ changes either! But Jesus is teaching me…, ๐Ÿ’— My Mr B and I usually stay at home and ring in the NY together. This year? We have a change! ๐Ÿ˜Š We will be with a daughter and two grands on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, so Happy New Year and thank you for your fabulous and encouraging blog!
