REALLY!! IS IT WORTH IT?

Psalm 118Good morning Friends, how are you today? How was your week? Can you believe we are four weeks away from 2019? Say it with me…2019.  Wow! The year is almost over… but first; we have December. 2018 isn’t over until it’s over.  There is still time to implement the changes we desire to make part of our lives.  We have twenty seven days left in 2018; if we are intentional, we can still make new habits.  We can call that sister or friend, we’ve not spoken to all year.  We can decide now, we will not only read our bible but we will consider it the final authority over our lives.  In spite of the cold weather and snow, we can decide, exercise and healthy eating is not optional and lose that weight we’ve been complaining about all year.  Time can be our friend, if we see it as a gift from our Good God and use it wisely, in spite of the cold weather (have I said that already?). Really, we don’t have to move to like a slug, even though it’s 25°, but feels like 18°… maybe…  Esther 4 14I love that verse.  I am reading the book of Esther and I love the historical background found there, as I read.  Sometimes, I forget that history was also being made in other parts of the world, while Bible people lived their lives.  For example, did you know that movie 300 was based on a battle fought by Esther’s king? I didn’t know that. So fascinating as it? It’s no wonder the Bible remains one of the world’s bestselling and most read books of all time.   Es 4 14Do you believe in coincidence? Do you know there isn’t such a thing? Nope! There are no coincidences. Think about it… if God is God and He is in control and He controls everything, then that means He allows and He does.  Is 46 9He allows the good, the bad and the ugly or He brings the good, the bad and the ugly.  He allows and He does.  It’s all for one purpose; to draw us to the feet of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  For a minute there, Esther thought just about herself and her well being.  For just a minute, she forgot that although we each have our own individual relationship with the Lord, our actions still will have a ripple effect.  All our actions will affect others; the good, the bad and the ugly. As Christians, our actions tell others more of what we believe about God than what we actually say about God.  Our actions say whether we believe our God is good, loving, kind and faithful.  It tells others whether we believe that God is merciful and gracious. Our actions say whether we believe that God is an ogre, waiting to cut us off at the first offense.  What do our actions says about our God?  Is 46 6‘For such a time as this’…; it’s not always easy to see the ‘big picture’ when we are going through difficult times.  Did you know that God is always fair? When I don’t see or understand the purpose of my trial, it’s hard to believe that any good can come out it.  It’s hard to see that far ahead in my pain.  But… rom-8-28-e1543940346739.jpgWe can trust the Lord, friends.  Although we were not promised only sunshine and roses days, we were promised that our Great God would never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).  He promises to walk through the ‘valley of the shadow of death’ (Psalm 23).  When we know the nature of our God, we can trust Him.  When we know the Person of our God, we can trust Him.  Do you know my God?

  3. Hi friend! You look beautiful and so full of Joy in your opening picture!! What a great message, and so true. I do not believe in coincidence, I believe that all we go through goes through God first. We see a clear illustration of this in the book of Job 1: 8-12 where:
    “Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” 9″Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10″Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.” 12The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.”

    When I or others I love are suffering through a difficult time, I am reminded that God is Sovereign over ALL and He alone knows the whole picture. I need to have faith and trust in Him.

    • Amen! Shannon, I miss you, my friend. For some very strange reason, I was no longer following your blog ( I honestly do not know how that happen) I now I will certainly be intentional about that 🙂 We serve a great and mighty God, He is always in control and He still has control over all lives. He is God.

      • I have had so many people say that has happened to them. I am at a loss as to what is wrong, and I have tried several times to fix it. 😦
        The technology side of this can be discouraging to me, but I do the best I can knowing that I am being faithful to God.
        Thank you sweet friend, you and your blog are such an encouragement to me! 🙂

      • I had someone say the same to me, not too long ago. In my city, I have searched for a local blogging community, to help with the technology aspect, but I am at a loss. For now, we will work with what we have 🙂

  5. God Bless You Brenda!! ((2019))!! If if be His Will I will be here for that coming year. I thank you for sharing. I’m so Grateful and Thankful that He has had patient with me. Today here it is very cold. I did get out, but I didn’t stay out too long. LOL LOL Yes!! Our Heavenly Father is Faithful!! We Can Truly Depend On Him. I was studying today In the Book of Exodus: “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:” Exodus 34:14 \0/\0/ ((Hugs)) Agape!! Shalom!! 🙂

  6. It is rather mind-bending to think that God creates all us peoples, in all these different times and places, to interact with others in the same times and places, to integrate with all those people in history; every second of every day, along with all the plants and animals and weather… 😵

  7. Wonderful Brenda! I was just talking to my son yesterday about the vastness of the Word. No matter how often we read it, we will always find something new or get new revelation about a scripture! I did not know the movie was based off of Esther!!! Pretty cool!

  8. We are studying Esther this week! I do that ,too, forget that there were other historical events that coincide with the events of the Bible. It’s sad that the public school kids do not learn about God in History class.
