TODAY I CHOOSE…

Hello Friends, how was your week? I pray you had a great week. 2 Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself is a good verse to remember in spite of the week we’ve had. Our Great and Mighty God was faithful, is faithful, and will always be faithful. He cannot be anything less.  Psalm 118The closer we get to the end of the year, the faster the days go by.  Presently there are seventy three (73) days left before 2018 comes to an end. I feel like a straggler. My goals are there, in the distance and there is no way to get to them.  Do you feel like your days are moving at the speed of light? 7ABF0945-3AFD-45DC-BF2F-56EEC0204825 The girls are here and the plan is to go apple picking later today.  The Lord has blessed us with sunshine and 62° temperature. Thank You, Lord. Sunday though, our high, according to the meteorologist, will be 39° with the possibility of snow.  BUT before we get to the Sunday, guess what we have? We have TODAY! Praise the Lord for today.  Lamentations 3 22 23Today is a good day.  No, I haven’t lived today yet, but God’s Word is true. In His Word, He says, there is peace, joy and love for this day; Psalm 86:5 For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You..  There is forgiveness and gentleness and faithfulness at the ready for this day (I John 1:9).  On this day, grace and mercy will not be very far. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness Lamentations 3:22, 23.  Today, while I complete my chores, I’ll choose to praise the Lord.  Today, in the midst of the constant chatter and mess (pray for me) I choose to worship.  I choose to put up the volume of Lauren Daigle’s CD Look Up Child and sing at the top of my lungs, my favorite song this week, Rebel Heart, even though the girls will think I’m crazy. Phil 4 4 Today, I’m choosing to share all my joys and every single one of my frustrations, first, with the Lord.  Today, I’m choosing to rejoice in the Lord and obey His commands.  Today, I’m choosing to remember there is forgiveness, when I forget to rejoice and be glad; perhaps I felt like throwing a temper tantrum.  I will remember there is grace and mercy, when I fail yet again, to ensure that at root of my words, there should always be kindness. Today I will choose not to borrow tomorrow’s problems.  Today, I will seek comfort and rest in the arms of my Ever-Present God.  When today ends, I want the Lord to say, “Well done, Brenda”. Today, I choose intentionality in my walk with the Lord.  Just today though, I will let tomorrow see about itself.  How is your ‘today’? closing1brenda

  4. I’m so glad His mercies are new every morning and that He is always faithful. I know you enjoyed having your girl and picking apples together! I love how the house smells when I bring home a lot of apples. I’ve only recently heard about Lauren Daigle, but I love her music! Blessings to you, Brenda! I’m your neighbor at the #LMMLinkup.

  6. Bless you Brenda, I hear you, happy chatter can befuddle the brain, despite being a beautiful blessing. Have a wonderful time with your girls, you’ll get to be still later. What a wonderful day this has turned out to be with the Lord and you! Thanks for encouraging us all despite everything you have going on. God bless all your plans for the last 73 days and may he do what he always does and make the impossible possible. Lamentations 3:22 got me through the years of my husband’s long illness.

  13. I actually got a minute this morning to be intentional about spending a couple of minutes with God. It was nice 🙂 Usually I get a second here or there, but the little kids were still sleeping when we got up this morning! It was a nice feeling and something I need to work on making more time for, even if it doesn’t happen until after the kids wake up. We got a light dusting of snow Wednesday and it was still here yesterday, so the kids were SUPER excited. It is nice and sunny today, so I am soaking up the Vit D while it is still available!     • Thank you 😊 I must admit it has been fun and exhausting 😊 I had forgotten how exhausting 😅 but I would not change that for anything. I remember having little ones and having a dedicated time to spend with the Lord was non existent. Whenever you have the time, take it to spend time with the Lord, everyone will be glad you did 😆😆😆

  15. Amen to that! Guess what? It is supposed to be in the 60s here today too! Beautiful sunny Colorado day! Crazy weather here–it was 19 degrees with snow on Sunday and Monday! It’s like Spring again! I have to get outside today! Have fun! God bless!
