PURSUED & LOVED

Hey Friends, how are you? It is somewhat of a busy week in my neck of the woods. I have been preparing the house for a very brief visit with the girls.  Yeah! For their Fall Break, the girls are coming home.  I am very excited for their four day visit, but I was busy because [we’ll keep this between us] their rooms have not been cleaned since they left in August.  Needless to say, I’ve been busy. It does not help matters that the sun has been replaced by constant rain and clouds and the atmospheric warmth has swapped places with 40° temperatures as our high. I love the fall; the colors, the pumpkin spice latte and banana bread and the ‘slight’ chill in the air.  I had forgotten that in my neck of the woods, there is nothing ‘slight’ about our drop in temperatures.  We will go from 60° to 30° in one day.  Psalm118 24On this blog site, we talk a lot about pursuing God.  We talk about obeying His Word and we also talk about surrendering our wills and our ways to do life, God’s way.  These are all good traits to desire and to run after; we should do those things.   I Jn 4 10Isn’t that a good verse? Can you visualize this kind of love? I find it hard to, at times.  It is hard to love people, who are deliberately hurtful and constantly mean. I regularly tell our girls, ‘life isn’t fair’ yet I find it hard to accept what I perceive to be unjust, inconsiderate and thoughtless actions from others. Kindness is shown, but in its place, characters are being assassinated. Forgiveness and compassion are extended but it is rejected because it is considered to be insufficient.  We are, generally speaking, a tough people to please. I know it would be nice to think we are not like the aforementioned people.  Of course we are all kind, compassionate, and loving, or so we would like to think. But we are told we are not that good.  Yet, in spite of all this, we are pursued and sought after by a loving Father. Isn’t that great? In Luke 15:1-10, Jesus uses the parable of the Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin to tell us of the rejoicing that occurs in Heaven when someone is restored or joins the family of God. Go ahead, read it for yourself.  The God of the Universe, the Great Creator calls us to Himself.  He sees His sinful creation and yet He says, “I love you, I want you”.  We are loved in spite of us.  We are loved even when we are unlovable.  Ps 73 3Sometimes I need to remember that.  I am loved! Sometimes I forget in the busyness of life.  I look around me and I wonder, “Lord it seems as if everyone is prospering and happy”.  It’s good to be reminded that I am not forgotten. When I want to be all into my feelings, it’s good I know I am loved.  On the days I want to wallow in self pity and ignore the phone calls, I am loved.  It brings peace and security, when I remember I am loved, not from a distance; not kept at a distance, but up close and my God is all into me.  I am loved and I am given time to grieve and moan and groan.   Ps. 73 2Today, I will remember, I am loved.  I will bask in the fact that even with all the knowledge about me, I am pursued.  I will stay with the only One whose love is consistent and never depends on me.  I will dwell on the fact that my God’s love for me does not depend on my goodness, or lack of it.  ps 46 1Even when I am thoughtless in my speech, I am loved.  Today is a good day, because I will stay close to my God, I will talk to Him constantly, even though I am hiding from everyone else. I will tell Him all my troubles and find rest and safety in the arms of the All-Powerful God.  I will choose to remember that I was not spoken into existence, but rather was tenderly and lovingly Handmade by the Master Creator and He call me beautiful. PS 139 16I will know His thoughts about me are countless and He knows, really, really KNOWS everything about me, yet still He loves me.  Today, just this one day, I will hug my blankets a little tighter and I will know that I am pursued because I am loved.  Today, you don’t have to be brave, there is shelter under the wings of the Mighty Savior, its okay to be weak, and there is power in the arms of the True Source of Strength.  Rest… closing1brenda

  1. I agree with this right here: “It brings peace and security, when I remember I am loved, not from a distance; not kept at a distance, but up close and my God is all into me. I am loved, and I am given time to grieve and moan and groan.” I think right now I am in a moaning and groaning stage because something I waited so long for is not working out how I envisioned it. I am constantly having to die to self, trust the Lord, remember He is good, and He loves me. I can rest knowing that no matter what I face he has given me abundant grace to get through this oftentimes tumultuous Christian race.

    • It’s okay to moan and groan and whine. The important thing is to keep the lines of communication always open with the Lord. He will respond always! He will give us the peace we need to accept His will when He says no to our desires. He will demonstrate His perfect and good desires for us as we learn to trust Him more and more. Thanks for this comment, Tona

    • Amen 🙏🏽 it’s never intentional, is it.? Overtime we look up after feeling defeated yet again and realized we were carrying the weight of the world. When all we had to do was give it to the One Who unconditionally loves us. May the Lord bless you

  2. I believe the secret to walking in full fellowship with the Lord is knowing the depths of His love for us. For it is the reason we are able to love Him and in loving Him, love others. Loving Him we want to please Him.

  4. Amen! The other day I was under attack from the enemy and I began crying out to Him as my tears hit the pillow. Then the Holy Spirit reminded me how much I am loved and that he was keeping count of each tear the I shed. How wonderful was that? Each day I fall more in love with Jesus. It’s easier to love knowing how much he loves us.

    • Yes, the enemy wants to attack our faith, he wants us to believe that God’s love is conditional and can’t be trusted. But yes, we do know differently, because the Bible tells us so. 😍 May the Lord bLess you
