MARCH FAVORITES

IMG_3295Wow! March has simply flown by and April is settling in, for the next 24 days. March 20 was the first of Spring, but I’m afraid we have not yet received that memo. Can you believe that right now, there is snow on the ground? How are you? Really, how are you doing? The month of March went by so quickly, I can’t remember anything from that month.  I’ve been busy doing the everyday.   I am determined that the rest of the year won’t just be a blur. I want to live life intentionally. Do you know the Lord desires that we live life abundantly? All of life! Let’s choose to move, do things, go places, say hi, see people, and experience new things.  Today, let’s determine to live.

GROWING FAVORITES

IMG_3309Proverbs 31 is perhaps my favorite chapter in the Bible. Last week a sweet friend and I were talking about this capable, virtuous woman.  I realized something about this woman for the first time.  Apart from verse 29, when her husband speaks, she is the active character in this entire chapter.  Nothing she does is dependent on another person. IMG_3308Her actions; her choices are influenced by her ‘fear of the Lord’. She did to and for her family, but not because of them.  The kind of family would not determine her actions. She knew her roles; she did them with integrity and dignity. Good grief! I want to be her (although I would be remiss, if I do not say, the Lord has surely blessed me with the best family).

BEAUTY FAVORITES

IMG_3305IMG_3307This Fenty Beauty foundation in 370 is simply fabulous. I bought it in January and I have used it almost every time I go out of the house. It is a light weight foundation. It is full coverage (for me). I use just two pumps on my face. I absolutely love it.  (link)IMG_3301

IMG_3303This Double Decker mascara by Butter London has moved into first place.  It is very black, very lengthening and it separates the lashes. What more can I ask for? It came in last month’s BoxyCharm. (link)  BoxyCharm is $21 a month, this mascara is $20 at Ulta.  Choices, Choices…IMG_3299

IMG_3300I have dry, chapped lips. I was on the hunt for a balm, when my baby suggested this one.  I bought it at Sephora along with the Fenty foundation in January. Smith’s Rosebud Salve is the best hydrating lip balm, I have tried. I have barely made a dent in it.  It is luxury in a tin.  I highly recommend it; it was not very expensive, at $6, which is always great.  (link)

FASHION FAVORITES

IMG_3296IMG_3298These Aldo shoes, I bought at the thrift store for $4.00 is ridiculously comfortable. I could run in these! I love the color, I love the heel height.  Perfection in a shoe! I have been tempted to wear these shoes, every time I go out.  Love them.

  6. The Proverbs 31 woman was a leader, yes? Not dependent on others for her to do the right thing.
    My big thrift store finds this month were an immersion blender (KitchenAid!!) to replace my broken one, and I found jeans in good shape for my little boys… a rare thing.
    Lip balm– I make my own! I’m going to get around to sharing that recipe one of these days.

    • I need that encouragement about the snow 🙂 I know!! The Proverbs 31 woman was indeed a leader. I am quite happy to note I am not the only who saw that. Sometimes, I can get too hung up on what my husband is or isn’t doing. We allow what others do to control our actions. I Can’t believe you found a KitchenAid! I have been looking for one :(. I will keep looking 🙂

  10. Wonderful favorites! I’m currently reading a book that provides a more in-depth study of the Proverbs 31 woman, and I’m absolutely LOVING it! It’s called ‘Beautiful in God’s Eyes,’ by Elizabeth George 🙂 Definitely worth reading! Also, I have to say those thrifted shoes are gorgeous! They look really comfortable, too.
