I DON’T DESERVE IT, BUT…

John 10 10Happy – Feeling or showing pleasure or contentment (Oxford Online Dictionary).

Why Lord, do people say You do not care about our happiness? Why do they make it sound like You do not care about our happiness?  Don’t they know that You came so that we might have/live life abundantly?

You are Creator of the Universe!! You do not NEED anything from me.  You are God, You are not contained, nor limited in anyway, by me.  Do they know? Do they understand? I don’t have to choose between my happiness and You, Lord. Do they not realize that my happiness hinges on giving You glory? I am at my happiest, WHEN I delight in You.

Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore,
“Great is the Lordwho delights in the welfare of his servant! Psalm 35:27

I can be happy and serve You too.  My circumstances should not condition my happiness, everyone goes through difficult days. You remind me that I should ‘count it all joy, when trials come my way, James 1:2.   My happiness should not depend in my ‘silver and gold’, not even the rich and famous are happy.  My happiness should not depend on people, they are just like me, prone to disappoint.  My happiness in found in YOU alone.

Proverbs 10:28 The hope of the righteous brings joy,

Don’t they realize, how incomplete those who do not know You, as their Savior are? They have no ONE to solve their problems, they have no ONE who listens to them. Who will they give their problems to? Who can bring change to their circumstances or friends or family? They don’t know of Your unconditional, unwavering love. They can’t bask and find rest in You. Why do they say, I have to make a choice between my joy and Your glory? Why must I choose?

Psalms 4:7

You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.

Lord, You give life, You give hope, You give peace, You give rest.  You give LIFE! You give freedom! That makes me happy.  You, Almighty God know my name.  Because I didn’t trust You to make me happy, I was afraid to entrust my life to You, I was afraid to surrender and to submit to Your authority.  Do they not know that You desire that I live an abundant life, filled with laughter, harmony, peace, joy.  That’s found in You, Lord. Only in You!

Friends, God’s glory isn’t at the expense of your happiness.  As Christians, we should be the happiest people on earth.  Because of that happiness (synonymous with joy) we fulfill what we were created for; to bring God glory.  We bring the Lord glory, when we surrender our lives and submit to His authority.  We do that when we believe that He desires the very best for us.  We believe that when we trust Him.  When we trust Him, we are able to give Him glory, in spite of, despite our circumstances.

Psalms 144:15 … Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!

I find it difficult to trust someone, I don’t know.  Do you know the Lord?

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who have taken the time to follow the blog.  I am humbled by your comments and likes on the posts.  May the Lord be honored on this adventure.

Have a blessed day and remember: God’s love is unfailing, unwavering and unconditional

  1. “I find it difficult to trust someone. Do you know the Lord?” WOW! Amazing! Thank you for sharing the word. The only was to have real peace and joy is for sure by knowing the Word. It does break my heart that people get angry at God for not getting what they want. Only if we were patient enough to wait like he waits on all of us to be still and know that he wants the best for us, always. ❤️

  2. We were just discussing this yesterday at church! The difference between happiness and joy. Happiness is when things are going the way you want, but Joy is when it may not be happening the way you want or how you want it to but deep down you have contentment in God’s plan!

  3. I know that my happiness originates from my total trust in God. The moment I began to surrender wholly to God’s will without doubts, I started feeling a new kind of strength and my worries melted away.

My happiness should not depend in my ‘silver and gold’, not even the rich and famous are happy.  My happiness should not depend on people, they are just like me, prone to disappoint. 5. I don’t need to choose between my happiness and serving Him. Thank you for always pointing out something that I need to hear. I know it’s true. But sometimes I find myself worrying that following His path for me could mean not getting the desires of my heart. I’ve been working a lot on trusting His plan and knowing that whatever it is is best for me and my life. Thanks for sharing this! Your posts are always a “she’s so right!!!” moment for me! 🙂 Happy Tuesday! Hope you’re not getting slammed with more snow this weekend like New England is… eek. Spring will be here eventually, so I hear!

    • One of the hardest things I have done to date, is surrender my will to the Lord. I did not believe that He would do what was best for me. But He does, He really, really will always do, what’s best for us. Believe that. We are in for it again, this week
