HERE WE GO AGAIN…

Eph 4 32What’s the point of an argument, Lord? Who wins? Is that the point of the argument? For someone to be victorious? A winner and a loser? Although most arguments begin with a point, I believe as it continues it becomes about winning and losing.  Words volleying back and forth and back forth.  Beginning by making the same points, but eventually including the past sins.  Whose sin is greater? Who sins with frequency? Whose sins cannot be forgotten, perhaps not even forgiven?

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. Ephesians 5:22

What’s the point of an argument, Lord? Is it to prove that I am right? Why is that so important, who is right? Someone once said, in every argument, there are two sides and the truth. Perhaps at the beginning it was to express truth, but a rebuttal was not expected. Argument ensues! And here we go again.  Arguments always involve feelings, don’t they? “I’m right! No! I’m right! You did! No! You did!”

And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

Arguments among family members; husbands and wives, siblings,  are the most vicious, vindictive and cruel, I think. Perhaps it’s because we know each other too well.  How sad that we would use our knowledge against each other until there is nothing left! There is no stopping us until we’ve drawn blood.  Until words are said that can’t be taken back, irrevocable decisions are made that can’t be unmade, until lives are destroyed, all because I was right!

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, Ephesians 5:25

Who will share the Good News? Who will tell the world, God loves them? Perhaps we will, just after we torn each other to shreds with our words.  After all, we are right.  What did it cost; the price of our salvation? Where is the Lord in this? Was the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on our behalf, all for naught?

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Ephesians 6:1

You there, it’s not worth it. Whatever ‘it’ is, the God we serve is greater, He will fight your battles.  Take it to Him, tell Him your side of the matter, and leave it at His feet.

Proverbs 20:3It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.

Proverbs 29:22 An angry person stirs up conflict, and a hot-tempered person commits many sins.

Ecclesiastes 7:9 Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.

2 Timothy 2:23  But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.

  4. God only shows us hope..we are the one to view it in positive or negative way.. just like a small kid wears a smile on his face while sleeping having hi toy made of mud with him..without worrying that it is a mud toy that can break at any time.. he feels god loves him because he is blessed with this toy.. be positive and you will find gods love everywhere..

  5. This is so poignant: ” Who will tell the world, God loves them? Perhaps we will, just after we torn each other to shreds with our words. After all, we are right.” Reminds me of James 3:1-4:12. Especially 3:8-12 which includes: ” from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way.”
