LOOKING BACK…

ii-peter-3-1I know I’ve said it before, but… Isn’t that a great verse? This verse always reminds me of God’s absolute faithfulness.Β  When I younger, I used to think that being a Christian was the most β€˜unfun’ (yes, I said it), boring life ever to be lived. There seemed to be so many rules; more don’ts than dos. It always seemed to me that everyone else was having more fun than I was.Β  Well, to anyone out there with that thinking, let me tell you that’s a lie!Β  My God invented this idea called beauty, He created laughter, joy is everlasting and freely given to anyone who desires it! Oh no, my friend, this Christian life is the best life anyone can choose.Β  I dare you to choose the Lord as your Savior! You won’t regret it!

Throughout 2017, our family enjoyed quite a few outdoor activities.Β  One memorable event is a christian oriented conference, our family was fortunate to attend in Orlando, Fl.Β  On our drive down, we stopped in Clinton, NC. We visited with a friend’s family, we retraced his childhood neighborhood and it was fantastic.Β  It was quite fascinating, listening to his recollections of the places as we visited, trying to envision it the way he remembered. IMG_1064We eventually made it to Kissimmee, Fl. to be exact. IΒ met and made quite a few new friends, and spent time with others I had not seen since the year before.Β  It was a beautiful time of spiritual and physical fellowship. Psalm 133:1Β Behold, how good and how pleasantΒ it isΒ For brethren to dwell together in unity! Of course, while we were there, we took the girls to Magic Kingdom at Disney World.Β  The girls were just slightly impressed! Teenagers, you gotta love them! I think I was more excited than they were.

We also visited with family at West Palm Beach while we were there.Β  We welcomed the coconut water; it was a whopping 93Β°, but felt hotter. Incredible!Β  I don’t think I will ever complain about the cold again! On our way home, we stopped in Atlanta, Georgia to visit with more family members.Β  It was wonderful spending time with everyone.IMG_1240 A few weeks later, we drove to Myrtle Beach for a couple’s getaway. It was a week of relaxation, beach, thrift shops, beach and Put Put golf.Β  Did I say we went to the beach already? We did! My favorite memory of the time spent there was the opportunity to play Put Put golf against the men.

Now one would like to think that the men would win, right? Oh no, the ladies won! Yeah! Shhh, don’t tell the men… but I think they were too busy trying to prove their prowess at put put golf to each other.Β  Poor unfortunate souls! Needless to say, we had a great time! A few weeks later, we attended a play at our local theatre to see the The Lion King.IMG_2699Β  If this show comes to your city, I urge you to go see it.Β  The actors and actresses were amazing! They did a phenomenal job of depicting the story.Β  The singing and choreography was great.Β  Loved it!Β Β We also adopted a kitten and attended the State Fair.Β  We visited state parks and guess what?Β  I learnt to ride a bike!Β  I know, I know; but better late than never, right?

The Lord has given us this life to live. Let’s live life to its fullest! Let’s serve and worship our great God.Β  Do you have any fond memories from 2017? Share them; I’d love to read about it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who have taken the time to followΒ the blog.Β  I am humbled by your comments and likes on the posts.Β  May the Lord be honored on this adventure.

Have a blessed day and remember: God’s love is unfailing, unwavering and unconditional!

  4. Sounds like a wonderful year! Cute kitten, by the way!
My fondest memory was going to visit my daughter and her family in Colorado. The grandkids grow up so fast when you only get to see them once or twice a year, and they are getting so sweet! (Well, the 3 yr. old still had some rough moments, but that’s to be expected!) πŸ™‚
